Basic Function

The Senior IT Product Analyst holds a functional expert position within LYB’s Finance& Accounting Product Team which is responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, development, delivery and operations of LyondellBasell’ s (LYB's) global Finance & Accounting applications. These applications support all major aspects of Finance & Accounting processes of LYB’s $40 billion business. 

In this role, the Senior IT Product Analyst is responsible for delivery of global solutions within the supported Finance & Accounting process areas. The role requires good understating of Finance & Accounting processes as well as analytical and technology skills. Focus areas include SAP FI/CO, OneStream and other non-SAP Finance application platforms. An ideal candidate would be someone with prior experience in Finance or Project management with strong focus on continuous learning, keen interest in technology and applying technology solutions to deliver business value.

This position engages with a global team of highly effective Product Analysts, solution architects, global process owners, technical staff and other partners to design and deliver quality, integrated end to end solutions, lead major projects and provide oversight for enhancements. He/She also may play a key role in Finance& Accounting related workstreams associated with merger & acquisition initiatives. 

This position reports to the IT Product Team Manager, Finance & Accounting.
 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery and support of Finance & Accounting solutions end-to end. Role requires broad set of analytical and technology skills including but not limited to -  Finance applications, cloud technologies, Data & Analytics tools, application design and development. Ability to apply this skillset to the full software lifecycle. 
  • An ideal candidate would have good understanding of finance business processes, strong interpersonal, time management and project management skills.
  • As assigned, lead a project or an application development team managing day-to-day aspects of designated programs and projects including solutioning, delivery, support, continuous improvement, development, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Demonstrate strong time management, task management and collaboration skills.
  • Perform requirements gathering, design,  development and testing activities with business groups within a specific business process area and/or cross-functional teams to enable achievement of key project or operating objectives.
  • Helps develop business cases, considering financial, resource, and technological constraints.
  • Develops cost estimates with consideration for business impacts and risks. 
  • Collaborate with solution architects, procurement, product owners on solution selection activities, creating RFP and SOW  documents for new solutions and projects, engaging with external vendors and implementation partner on technology projects.
  • Oversee on-going operational activities to ensure compliance with our stage gate methodology, operations, and internal controls.
  • Work with accounting and finance groups to improve operational excellence and lower cost operations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork and excellence. 

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education. 
  • 5+ years of relevant Finance or IT experience.
  • Good understanding and experience in full application development lifecycle (i.e., requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, build, installation, documentation, and code management).
  • Communication and relationship skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Finance or Accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience leading business or IT projects strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and strong drive to learn and acquire broad range of technology skills. 
  • SAP, OneStream, Power BI prior experience are a big plus.
  • Exposure to Agile frameworks, SCRUM or KANBAN.
  • Experience in the Petrochemical Industry with strong business acumen.
  • Experience with design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications.
