This position reports to the Manager Manufacturing Controlling Europe APS and will play a crucial role in the manufacturing decision-making process, specifically in relation to accounting, finance, controls, and the business environment relating to 4 or 5 Manufacturing APS Sites or within the Consolidation function working with the other analysts being responsible for consolidation of all regional APS sites.  The individual will partner directly with the Site Management Teams.  While primary duties will focus on the Site Facilities, the role will also provide accounting support for various site support organizations within the respective sites of responsibility. 

A Day in the Life

  • Being an active business partner for the Site Manager and the Site Management Team, the FP&A Team, the BDA Team, the Internal Controls Team and Internal Audit Team.
  • Encompasses all things accounting-related for the respective Sites of responsibility, including accounting and month-end close activities, manufacturing fixed and variable cost analysis, manufacturing and corporate reporting, and internal control coordination, as well as additional core and ad-hoc functions for various site support organizations.
  • Providing key information on historical and forward-looking trends and related cost analysis at the micro and macro level.
  • Coordination/Preparation/Supporting of: annual manufacturing fixed and variable cost budget, site forecasting, LRP, monthly cost reviews and quarterly cost reviews for management, site appraisals, internal controls and Sox compliance, classification of costs, contract review, physical inventory Stock take, financials related to Turnarounds, site audits and other major site projects and ad-hoc financial support for the manufacturing site(s).
  • Preparation yearly Volumetric Exposure Analysis together with the Site Management teams as part of the Global Volumetric Policy.
  • Support LYB initiatives like SAP implementations or upgrades, implementation of One Stream or other systems, benchmark studies, synergy tracking and headcount tracking.
  • Support External Audits.
  • Support Government Statistics requirements.

You Bring This Value

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance or other related business degree is required.
  • Typically 4-6 years of work experience in an international corporate setting, with knowledge of financial accounting concepts and systems. Emphasis on areas such as reporting development, financial planning and analysis and business analytics is required.
  • Experience in Site/Process Manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Should have spent time working within an industrial industry such as plastics, chemical, and/or refining.
  • The individual must have demonstrated track record of working effectively within a well-respected, consumer oriented industrial organization.
  • Owns a high safety culture standard and a positive attitude being a great team-player.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously while reporting adequately to manager.
  • Ability to multi-task, consistently meets deadlines, and performs self-review of work product for accuracy and quality in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work with various work groups and various levels throughout the Manufacturing and Finance organizations.
  • Understands the financials behind the Manufacturing processes in both Balance Sheet and P&L.
  • Understands the volume movements and related financials behind the Supply Chain processes.
  • Ability to work extended hours during various times of the month/year.
  • Strong Experience with SAP, GMCC, Microsoft Excel and Access software and other used financial accounting systems is a must.
  • English, fluency is a must.
