The IT Finance Business Analyst/IT Product Analyst, part of LyondellBasell’s Global IT department, is responsible for providing best in class IT budgeting / forecasting practices and technical support to the IT departments. The Financial Management product team members manage the planning, successful delivery and ongoing support for the IT Finance budgeting, forecasting processes. The IT Product Analyst is a key position in the discovery and delivery of the best practices for the IT Financial Management strategy including budgeting and forecasting for IT planning, cost transparency, and cost allocations related to the Technical Business Management function. This position will lead business process improvements, information technology consulting, and IT Financial Management configuration and support.
The IT Finance Business Analyst/IT Product Analyst is a key position in the discovery and delivery of technology solutions for business. This position is responsible for the requirements gathering, analysis, design and configuration for the IT Finance Business Management area with a focus on Technical Business Management including IT Planning, Forecasting, Labor Management, Contract Management, as well as integration points to other processes and systems (i.e. SAP, ServiceNow, Ariba).
This position would interface regularly with business stakeholders, development teams, and third parties to ensure that business requirements are met through proper system design and configuration. Involves active, hands-on participation in diverse, regional and global IT teams to implement IT initiatives. This is a demanding role that involves managing multiple efforts, juggling multiple priorities and interfacing at all levels of the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities
The IT Product Analyst is a key position in the discovery and delivery of technology solutions for business. This position is responsible for the requirements gathering, analysis, design and configuration for the IT Finance Business Management area with a focus on Technical Business Management including IT Planning, Forecasting, Labor Management, Contract Management, as well as integration points to other processes and systems (i.e. SAP, ServiceNow, Ariba).
High level summary of key tasks includes:
- Lead process design activities with business groups within a specific business process area and/or cross-functional teams to enable achievement of key operating objectives,
- Gather business requirements for process improvements
- Document, prioritize and implement process improvements that are aligned with IT Financial Management strategies
- Documents solution design, conducts design reviews and obtains design sign-offs from the stakeholders
- Performs development or configuration activities as needed along with developing functional specifications for the technical teams
- Provides support during project execution, testing, Go-live and Hypercare phases
- Works with cross-functional teams and COEs (centers of excellence) on end-to-end design and delivery of technology solutions
- Maintain relationships with business colleagues with good communication
- Design solutions that address business requirements
- Work closely with OneStream COE to process operational activities for OneStream and SAP
- Work with IT, Accounting and Finance groups to improve operational excellence and lower cost operations.
- Participates in development of short and long term plans.
Min. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems. 6+ years of technical, business, or management experience in increasingly responsible positions.
- Combination of business process re-engineering and/or IT systems implementation with some knowledge of IT processes, Financial, or Purchasing processes.
- Familiar with various technologies and curiosity in learning new systems. Aptitude to learn technologies being introduced or developed within the company including software products such as Microsoft Business Intelligence software (PowerApps, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, etc.), Alteryx and SharePoint.
- Hands-on knowledge and experience in executing and improving IT Processes with strong excel and analytical skills. Visio and power point experience a plus. Hands-on knowledge and experience in core IT Planning / Forecasting modules (SAP, OneStream, Apptio or similar TBM applications) is a plus.
- Project management or Six Sigma skills to facilitate excellent execution in initiatives and initiate process improvements.
- Experience with delivering Training sessions to process users.
- Experience with delivering Training sessions to end users and leading Testing (includes creating a test plan, creating test scripts, working with users on UAT, meeting audit requirements for testing, working with developers on SIT, hosting testing kickoff meetings, managing testing throughout the entire testing lifecycle, documenting test results, driving testing through to completion).
