The Credit Representative is responsible for establishing and maintaining credit guidelines within their assigned area to support business objectives while effectively managing accounts receivable risk exposure. A key aspect of the role involves analyzing credit risk across the customer portfolio, including the assessment of customer and country risk in alignment with the company’s credit policy. The Credit Representative plays an important role in optimizing the company’s working capital through effective receivables management, working closely with Business, Sales, and Finance teams. In addition, the position ensures compliance with established credit standards, policies, and procedures, and drives and supports the implementation of the global credit strategy within their scope of responsibility.

A Day in the Life

  • Maintain an effective risk management framework for the company’s customer portfolio, covering both business and country risk, to enable timely decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with Business and Sales Management to assess customer creditworthiness.
  • Decide on customer credit limits and terms within assigned authority and escalate exceptions in line with the delegation of authority.
  • Contribute to the achievement of receivables KPIs, including DSO, overdue exposure, and bad debt levels.
  • Act as a trusted credit partner for stakeholders across Business, Sales, and Finance.
  • Prevent, minimize, and manage credit losses when they occur.
  • Advise Business and Sales teams on developing opportunities in markets or with customers that present high credit risk.
  • Recommend and implement long-term solutions for problematic or high-maintenance customers.
  • Support Credit Collection Specialists in cash collection, cash flow activities and trade finance tasks.
  • Participate in credit-related projects.

You Bring This Value

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial-related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop creative solutions for conducting business in high-risk environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team in a multicultural and multinational environment.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset, capable of taking initiative and making quick, well-calculated decisions.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of an additional foreign language is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of computer systems and business software, including ERP systems; advanced knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Strong commitment and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Determination, energy and the ability to positively influence others.
  • Ability to understand the broader impact of decisions on credit processes, business operations and the supply chain.
