Basic Function
The Quality Technician is responsible for the verifying the quality of all production by testing the finished product, raw materials and intermediates in accordance with customer standards and specifications. The Quality Technician also verifies equipment cleanliness and suitability of in-process testing equipment such as, but not limited to, metal detectors, thermometers and plasticity testers. Additionally, higher level technicians will be trained and proficient at various other skills which may or may not be listed below.
The Quality Technician will work in a safe manner consistent with the continuous training received by LyondellBasell. The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager and interfaces with all levels of plant supervisors and management. #LI-LL2
Roles & Responsibilities
-Ensure the quality of all finished product before releasing for shipment.
-Ensure the quality of intermediate raw materials before use in production. (See UR process)
-Conduct effective communications with the Production Supervisor, Production Operators and other management when it comes to quality issues on your shift.
-Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies.
-Communicate with other shift technicians with all quality issues on your shift for shift hand-off.
-Investigate and document out-of-control circumstances in SPC program as they occur.
-Use specialized testing equipment correctly and in a safe manner.
-Other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
Min. Qualifications
-Understanding of applicable Quality Control processes and procedures.
-Understanding of applicable manufacturing processes and procedures.
-Basic Math and Computer Skills
