Basic Function

The Process Engineer’s role is to provide process technical expertise and innovation to operating units within the Perrysburg site. Responsibilities include unit monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to drive strong unit performance while maintaining focus on safety and environmental compliance. The Process Engineer will also participate in plant-wide optimization and improvement opportunities and occasionally lead complex multi-unit troubleshooting efforts. #LI-LL2

Roles & Responsibilities

This position will oversee and provide primary input for all process profiles and equipment set ups. Responsibilities include identifying, acquiring, and qualifying process equipment and ensuring that manufacturing processes are properly documented. In addition, participate in problem solving activities and developing intellectual property. This position requires strong communication, organizational and technical skills.
· Incorporate process safety, environmental soundness and reliable operations principles and standards in projects and tasks
· Develop and support projects that contribute to the profitability, reliability, environmental, and safety integrity of the plant
· Lead and apply continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing product/processing areas, including process modernization.
· Interact with leading internal / external experts, vendors, and other outside consultants to develop and implement improvements.
· Hands on design and development of polymer processes and equipment to meet business objectives for new product introductions.
· Provide hands on technical support for equipment qualification and process validation.
· Assist in developing documents, specs, protocols, SOPs, batch records, work instructions and test procedures.
· Work with outside development partners to assist with their polymer processing development effort.
· Work closely with operations to suggest and use project management skills to implement solutions to manufacturing challenges based on experimental data.
· Optimize the performance and efficiency of all processes.
· Develop specifications for new, as well as replacement equipment and evaluate vendor proposals as required.

Min. Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering. 
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years prior experience working as a process engineer with preferred relevant experience in the polymers, petrochemical, or chemical process industries. 
• Leadership skills to influence the organization and drive improvement. 
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor and coach others in all directions of the organization.
• Advanced technical understanding of unit processes and willingness to specialize further. 
• Technology expertise and innovative approaches to solve complex process issues 
• Demonstrate the personal courage and technology knowledge to provide impact and influence at all levels of the organization.
