Quality Manager

Basic Function

Plans, organizes and manages the Quality and Continuous Improvement activities of the Gempol Manufacturing Site, including direct management of the Quality department team. Direct impact upon the achievement of LYB Quality Objectives by assuring products and services are in compliance with customers' requirements, ISO 9001 standards (including ISO 14001), and continuous improvement principles. Emphasis on a proactive and innovative approach that creates robust improvements serving both the internal and external customers around materials, manufacturing & assembly processes, and customer satisfaction. To drive Continuous Improvement culture in all areas through  LEAN concept toward Best In Class Manufacturing organization and to sustain LYB GoalZERO achievement.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Apply Six Sigma tools and root cause analysis techniques to achieve breakthroughs in improving product quality, reducing waste, machine & process reliability and productivity improvements
•    Strengthen teamwork within operations and across functions using appropriate tool
•    Lead continuous process improvement activities
•    Improve process control via improved instrumentation and statistical tools
•    Identify and implementing automation and packaging improvements
•    Utilize lean enterprise techniques to improve activities
•    Ensure compliance with regulatory and ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements
•    Address customer concerns and driving down product defects and cost of poor quality
•    Utilize financial analysis tools to support plant activities and to identify opportunities
•    Lead process and equipment design activities
•    Represent operations on product launch teams and leading new product commercialization activities within operations
•    Development of standardized work procedures
•    Identify and lead safety improvement in assigned process area

Min. Qualifications

•    Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
•    7+ years of experience at manager level in Quality, Process & Continuous Improvement field
•    10+ years of experience in a plastics manufacturing/compounding industries
•    Full knowledge in ISO (9001 & 14001) standard
•    Demonstrated Lean tools implementation and execution with some background in statistical techniques as well as process measurement and problem solving skill
•    Middle computer skills required and advanced skills beneficial
•    Good communication skill including presentation and ability as the Trainer
•    Good in English both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Six Sigma Green Belt certification (must have)
•    ISO Lead Auditor Certification (minimum ISO 9001 and plus ISO 14001 are more beneficial) 
•    Experience in SAP module related to Quality Management
•    Having GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) knowledge
