The IEA Maintenance Supervisor provides continuous oversight of execution of maintenance work, communicating any deviations to work schedules, ensuring any noted improvements to the execution process are clearly communicated, and necessary closure and reliability data is promptly input for each job. It is the responsibility of the maintenance supervisor to ensure that all employees and contractors work in a safe manner and comply with all policies/procedures.
A Day in the Life
• Provides safety leadership be developing ownership of safety as a value and supporting the Goal Zero belief that all incidents are preventable.
• Ensures that issues are reported, investigated and resolved in a timely manner and corrective action is taken where appropriate.
• Addresses problems with regards to safety, environmental, equipment, process or personnel issues and escalates them appropriately
• Provide I&E maintenance expertise to facilitate repairs correctly and in an expeditious manner.
• Ensure that work is provided in a quality manner that leads to the least possible down time.
• Ensure that the department is equipped with the proper tools, instruments, and other necessary implements for personnel to perform all work satisfactorily and safely.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance supervisors in preparing PM programs for the facility and ensure that the programs are functioning properly and that required records are kept.
• Coordinate maintenance work with Production and Maintenance supervisors to provide continuity of maintenance programs. Utilize proper materials of quality construction for equipment repairs.
• Screen work orders for spare parts / materials and assist in establishing required stocks of materials /parts for the warehouse.
• Respond to breakdown, emergencies or any abnormal conditions to expedite repairs.
• Establish technical and safety training programs. Provide all updated material to technicians, keeping them informed on new equipment and techniques and safety practices.
• Initiate required training to continually upgrade instrument and analyzer technical skills.
• Ensure that all regulatory records are kept as required by agencies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ISO 9001 procedures and practices, striving for continuous improvement of services and products at a preferred supplier status.
• Daily supervision of both LYB and contract IEA technicians.
• Participates in the development of the daily maintenance work schedule.
• Provides updates to scheduler for changes in resource loading.
• Reviews job packages and provides feedback on constructability or safety concerns.
• Assigns personnel to work orders on the daily schedule.
• Ensures the availability of all necessary resources (people, material, equipment, tools, parts, etc.) to guarantee safe execution of maintenance tasks.
• Monitors all applicable existing performance indicators, scheduling, and make necessary decisions in case of deviations. Actively participates in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Ensures the accuracy of data collected, including but not limited to (performance versus forecasts, reasons for deviations, actions taken, etc.)
• Adheres to guidelines to create consistency with other areas within the site with similar roles and responsibilities
• Ensures compliance with Company Operational Excellence Standards and site procedures that support those standards
• Proposes procedure revisions to continuously improve site performance and compliance requirements
• Actively assess employee skills and provide training and coaching as needed
• Provides recognition and feedback to employees
• Supervises employees in a bias-free, non-discriminatory manner in employee hiring, promotions, performance improvement, and other employee related practices and decisions
• Be an effective communicator with the technicians, as well as between shift, day staff, and management
• Administers company policies and procedures
• Champion innovative ideas from site employees
• Off hours accountability with maintenance activities, namely costs, productivity, and HSE
You Bring This Value
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of electrical or instrumentation maintenance experience.
Two years of "Step-up Supervisor" or other similar leadership experience is preferred.
To effectively perform the duties of this position the individual must possess:
• A thorough understanding of the maintenance work processes and its interactions with operations
• Excellent analytical skills to effectively evaluate equipment performance, troubleshoot equipment performance issues and knowledge to drive continuous process improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and team work skills
• Strong PC skills will allow the ability to manage data bases and spreadsheets
• Must have ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to be flexible, able to adapt/accept change, and provide leadership to work group.
