Basic Function

The Maintenance IEA Specialist for the LyondellBasell Underwood plant, located in Pasadena, TX, shall be a technical resource for technicians when conducting routine maintenance and repair. The Maintenance IEA Specialist is also responsible and accountable for improving the reliability of IEA equipment through troubleshooting acute and chronic issues and developing solutions to prevent future failures in a safe, cost efficient manner.  The Maintenance IEA Specialist is the owner of the AMS system and is responsible for advancing and maintaining this critical program. Position responsibilities also include capital project support, change of design packages, and technician training. 

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Performs root cause analysis of equipment failures
•    Implements solutions to equipment failures to ensure future failures do not occur
•    Identifies and resolves chronic and costly repetitive equipment failures at the lowest possible cost
•    Develops repair specifications for in-house and outside repair.  Also, must audit outside repair facilities to ensure effective repair is taking place
•    Provides capital project engineering and field coordination support
•    Assist technicians in troubleshooting equipment failures. Be a technical resource for technicians
•    Serves as a trainer and a resource for training, skill development, and maintenance techniques
•    Seeks and understands knowledge of HSE procedures, company procedures, and departmental procedures
•    Communicates technician training needs to the Maintenance I&E Supervisor and/or Maintenance Training Coordinator for appropriate action to be taken
•    Seeks out opportunities to create new work procedures or to update those in existence
•    Serves and participate on committees dealing with safety investigations, policy and procedure development and other special groups designed to improve the work place environment
•    Stays abreast of current technology and repair techniques, and identify applications when applicable
•    Manages the AMS system, including alert monitoring, diagnostics, calibration data reviews, valve signature analysis, technician training, and PM optimization

Min. Qualifications

•    High School diploma or GED. An Associate’s Degree (or higher) preferred.
•    Minimum of ten years total IEA experience in an industrial setting.
•    Familiar with Emerson, Rosemount, Fisher, and Flowserve Smart Devices
•    Must have the ability to exhibit strong communication, drive improvement in others, delegate and empower others, be a champion of change, problem solve, and have excellent technical orientation
•    Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
•    Effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently as well as changing priorities
•    Results oriented; problem solving ability
•    Highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency
•    Proficient computer skills (SAP, AMS, Microsoft Office, IP21, various I/E software platforms)
