This is the role

As Site Manager you will take charge of managing and directing the production facilities at our Oudsbergen site. Your primary goal is to ensure the site's operations run smoothly, with an unwavering commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and cost efficiency. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant Lyondellbasell policies, standards, and local legal requirements. Your role encompasses overseeing staffing and succession plans for the plant staff and nurturing community relations externally. A critical aspect of your responsibility is to establish and maintain a site culture and organization that places the utmost emphasis on the well-being of our people, the safety of our processes and products, environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and cost efficiency. This position demands a multifaceted and adaptive approach, and you will work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the continued success and responsible operation of the Oudsbergen site.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong and efficient site organization by planning and implementing necessary changes and by mentoring with an emphasis on staff development and career planning activities, coaching, guiding of team;
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and the surrounding community;
  • Develop, implement, and promote continuous improvement initiatives in line with business priorities using benchmark references;
  • Manage the development and control of annual operations and capital budgets for the site;
  • Build up a strong business acumen in the local team by enriching the relationship with the Business partners (Asset Manager, Business Manager, Sales and PAD team, Technical Support team and Centralized Planning Team);
  • Develop and maintain an efficient reporting system to promptly inform the APS EU manufacturing management team about site performances.

You have a good understanding of manufacturing processes and operational success. Your leadership skills, with a strong focus on safety and operational excellence, have consistently resulted in increased productivity, upheld quality standards, and managed costs effectively. You excel in managing change, focusing on process and safety management, consistently delivering results. Your ability to devise and implement effective strategies has a track record of success. In addition, your comprehensive knowledge of business processes and strong business acumen guide informed decision-making.

 

This is what you bring

  • Engineering or science degree, or equivalent professional experience;
  • Min 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Min 3 years as site manager or operational leadership preferred;
  • Experience as Production and/or HSE team leader are desirables; 
  • Very good knowledge of English (Dutch is preferred).
