This is the role
As a PAD Lab Technician you support the development process of new products (color masterbatches/compounds) as well as the improvement and maintenance of existing products which meet the needs of the customer (internal and external). The work activities are performed according to business strategy & needs. The position is located at our LYB Color Innovation Center in Oudsbergen
Roles & responsibilities:
- Support the development, improvement and implementation of new and existing color masterbatch products that fulfill the requirements of the market needs according to the business strategy within a set timeframe.
 - Evaluate color performance by simulation of customer processes (EBM, IM and ISBM) according to test plans.
 - Take ownership of designated equipment/pilot line. Ensure calibration, SOP, maintenance are up to date and in accordance with Operational Excellence, quality and safety standards. This includes the planning & organization & trial documentation of pilot line runs, requiring a high level of autonomy. Support on potential CAPEX and budget needs.
 - Expand knowledge by following up on new developments in the field of pigments, additives, resins and analysis of performance methods, by attending team meetings, reading literature, attending webinars as well as internal and external trainings.
 - Pro-actively formulate proposals for improvement in the field of HSE, methods and team spirit to the CPC lab manager.
 - Support projects related to approval of new raw materials, adjusting the equipment or installation of new equipment, implementation of new technologies for CPC EU or CPC locally, creation of new products in line with color development requested by customers/brand owners.
All with guidance of PAD Engineer and/or PAD (Lab) Manager in accordance with Operational Excellence, quality and safety standards.

This is what you bring
- Minimum Bachelor in Sciences or Engineering, preferably Master in Sciences or Engineering.
 - Basic knowledge of polymer processing (injection-extrusion), raw materials and polymers.
 - Knowledge in the color area is considered an advantage.
 - Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English.
