Logistics Operations Manager

We are seeking to recruit a Logistics Operations Manager at our Crumlin Site.
Our Crumlin site is located approximately 15 miles from the City of Newport in South Wales. The site began operations in 1974, and today produces polypropylene resins used for a wide variety of products. We are one of the world's largest producers of polymers and a leader in polyolefin technologies, we develop, manufacture and market high-quality and innovative products for applications ranging from sustainable transportation and food safety to clean water and quality healthcare.
Basic Function
To manage safely and effectively the day-to-day site logistics operations activities for the Crumlin site and associated overspill warehouses. To initiate and manage the implementation of agreed logistics improvement projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage operationally and cost effectively within agreed targets, (KPI’s and budgetary limits), the day to day on site logistics operations and supply chain activities of associated distribution platforms.
- HSEQ: Apply site and corporate HSE guidelines and quality rules in all logistics areas.
- Optimal utilisation of on-site and third-party storage facilities.
- Optimisation of work practices and transaction processes ensuring proper traceability and auditability of raw materials and finished products in accordance with ISO TS and LYB Europe quality procedures.
- Effective contribution to site manufacturing efficiencies through efficient and timely production order processing and plant scheduling.
- Effective contribution to customer service through efficient sales order execution, timely materials availability and delivery performance in accordance with sales / customer requirements.
- Maintenance of good, functional working relationships with site operations personnel, European CSG, Account Managers, central planning and asset management groups.
- Performance review / cost monitoring of third-party Logistics service providers and associated operations.
- Implementation and timely maintenance of agreed monthly reporting format / processes for logistics and supply chain performance measurables, (cost and operational)
- Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment in all logistics activity areas in accordance with LyondellBasell OE standards and HSE guidelines.
- Implementation of SC EU best practices in logistics operations together with SC Regional Operations manager Europe South and Northwest.
Min. Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a supervisory/management role in logistics, commercial and or site operations, preferably within chemical / specialty compounds / polymer manufacturing
- Proven team leader and worker
- Proven Initiator, completer and finisher
- Language skills: English.
