Unified Collaboration Engineer

Basic Function

This position is part of the ITS Unified Collaboration group reporting into the Global Collaboration department. Incumbent will be responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting IT applications and systems in the Enterprise Unified Collaboration group. Goal is to ensure the smooth operation of applications and systems in order to provide maximum performance and availability for users.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible, under guidance of management, for executing established operational work processes and procedures to support and maintain information technology systems and infrastructure. This includes actively participating in scheduled maintenance activities to ensure systems and infrastructure reliability, utilizing best practices and other methodologies to improve work process performance and results. Consults with other experienced technologists to understand stakeholder impacts resulting from technology change. The purpose of this activity is to sustain an ever-evolving information technology landscape, to enable innovative business solutions and to prudently exploit technology for the best value at acceptable risk.

Preferred Qualifications

This is a staff-level position requiring either a degreed professional who possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a non-degreed professional with five (5) to ten (10) years relevant experience preferred. This individual must demonstrate technical knowledge in the following technology disciplines:

•             Experience with design, deployment and ongoing support of the following voice components:

o             Cisco Unified IP Phones and accessories

o             Cisco Unified Communications Manager – multiple clusters

o             Cisco Jabber

o             Cisco Unity Connection

o             Cisco UCS servers

o             Cisco Unified Contact Center Express

•             Experience with design, deployment and ongoing support of the following video components:

o             Cisco TelePresence Expressway (C) Server and Video Expressway (E) Server

o             Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS, TMSXE, TMSPE, and TMSAE),

o             Cisco Meeting Server (CMS)

o             Cisco Webex Cloud and Hybrid Collaboration Solutions

Preferred Qualification (cont'd)

•             Working knowledge of networking equipment, management tools, and network analyzers.

•             Technical awareness of Service Provider networks and offerings, competitive equipment knowledge.

•             Technical experience / overall knowledge of voice PRIs, PBXs, Call Centers, analog support, voice recording, attendant consoles

•             Some familiarity with configuring Cisco UCS servers, Cisco Voice Gateways, LAN infrastructure devices, and familiarity with best practice VoIP implementation methods

•             Configuring and support of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)

•             3rd tier problem resolution - ability to isolate problems and troubleshoot issues down to the hardware or carrier level

The following skills and experience are a plus:

•             Monitoring tools such as Microsoft SCOM and Solarwinds Orion

•             Experience with CUCM SME
