Basic Function

The Global Business Services (GBS) organization is establishing India-based Center of Excellence (CoE) with full stack of IT, Digital, Cyber Security and Procurement capability to accelerate value-driven operations and to support our transformational Goals and company growth. This strategic foot print in India will provide access to talent pools, structure to develop talent globally, and greater resiliency and responsiveness to changing business needs. 

 

The Sr. Manager, India Center of Excellence will build out and ramp-up India-based CoE team and create a talent pipeline for IT, Procurement, Digital and Cyber Security skills and competencies, partner with internal and external stakeholders, and spearhead the prioritization of high-value yielding opportunities to build the next generation of commercial and operational capability.  This person will be responsible for steering and cultivating strategic vendor partnership to enable value driven solution implementations. 

 

The India CoE team will be mixed of employees and strategic partner resources. In 2021, the India CoE team will ramp-up to ~120 team members (~20% employees, 80% Partner) and will continue to grow and evolve in 2022 and beyond. The India CoE team will be based in Mumbai and Pune.

 

The Sr. Manager will play a prominent role with hands-on involvement in project management, business interpretation, stakeholder communication; and will champion continual modernization of process and technology capabilities. 

 

Reporting directly to the CIO, this is a significant managerial position that will provide thoughtful and technical operational leadership to the product and platform design and development, as well as managing cross functional, multi-disciplined GBS teams. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand India CoE team for GBS organization to build end-to-end capabilities
  • Establish global operating model, processes and governance mechanisms that tie together center-based teams and diverse, geographic teams effectively and seamlessly.
  • Manage budgeting, strategic planning, technical direction, and staff coaching/mentoring for a large team.
  • Develop and maintain exceptional, strategic relationships with stakeholders and partners by delivering innovative and pioneering solutions.
  • Create a shared vision by building and maintaining excellent cross-functional relationships / alignment with partners across the business.
  • Develop actionable metrics and insights into the performance and operational health of the teams and partner deliverables.
  • Collaborate with product owners to understand future business needs and strategic leadership processes to provide a technical strategy.
  • Participate in strategic planning to achieve technical and business alignment with team, leadership chain, and with customers.
  • Partner with internal team and strategic partners to ensure skilled, sufficient and balanced resourcing.
  • Train and coach new & existing team members, guiding career growth and heading up performance management discussions.
  • Contribute and foster a culture of collaboration/teamwork, accountability, customer focus, and flawless execution while recognizing and appreciating diverse needs.
  • Determine priorities by communicating and managing expectations; planning, monitoring, evaluating, and reviewing progress; anticipating and managing relationship with partners.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the India CoE team to ensure effective and continuous delivery pipeline with the appropriate level of automation and areas to explore for emerging technologies.
  • Instill a culture of agility and organizational efficiency for scalability. Encourage new ideas, initiatives, and contributions; create opportunities for continuous improvement and change.    

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years’ experience as a strategic and thoughtful leader with exceptional operational and vendor partnership skills.
  • Previous experience in building a team and leading cross functional teams.
  • Previous experience with development lifecycle and ERP system.
  • Previous experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective implementation teams.
  • Ability to steer others through influence and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners; and driving to alignment on technology direction.
  • Adept at articulating the product vision and driving the future roadmap with strong business acumen. 
  • Possesses excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Exceptional operational/tactical leadership skills with maturing strategic leadership to achieve alignment, integration and successful implementation.
  • Excellent role model – passion for excellence; recognized as impactful and trusted leader.
  • Cultivates, maintains, expands, and serves as primary relationship liaison with strategic partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field of study is preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Background in mergers, acquisitions or divesture activities a plus.
  • Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies and have experience in evolving them at scale.
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Chemical industry
