Senior Manager - ERP Strategy & Planning

Basic Function

The Sr. Manager ERP Strategy & Planning reports directly to Digital Technology Leader, ERP Strategy & Operations. It is a key leadership role responsible for developing and maintaining ERP strategy, processes, tool, talent and planning inline with LYB’s Operation Model. This role requires providing leadership to all strategic initiatives around growing & upgrading the core, building a profitable Circular & Low Carbon Solutions Business and stepping up performance and culture. The position emphasizes on working with CDIO and other DT leaders as well as Business Executive and Senior Vice Presidents and Directors of various divisions to develop overall ERP strategy including the SAP strategy
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of architecting enterprise solutions for dynamic multi-national company with history of organic/inorganic growth, leading multi-year ERP(preferably SAP) programs and passionate about delivering value through digitization.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: 

• Develop and maintain ERP strategy including SAP strategy in alignment with LYB’s New Operating Model 
• Define and enhance ERP Implementation Process, Tools and Methodology that support business growth and operational efficiency in close coordination with Digital Transformation leader
• Define and enhance methodologies and practices for the ERP application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
• Implement and manage ERP application life cycle management status reporting, metrics and benchmarks.
• Define/Enhance ERP Data Quality and Migration strategy 
• Define and execute talent strategy for ERP Team
• Define and execute Partner strategy in coordination with Global Procurement

Innovation & Continuous Improvement: 

• Drive the adoption of new ERP/SAP technologies (e.g., S/4HANA Private and Public Cloud, SAP BTP Integration/Development/Analytics/AI, SAP SuccessFactors and HCM, SAP CX/Hybris) to optimize business processes and improve user experience for global clients;
• Stay updated on the latest ERP/SAP developments and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement within the ERP/SAP implementation and outsourcing sector;

Business Alignment & Stakeholder Management: 

• Responsible for working with Digital Technology Business Interfacing Teams, Business Process Architects & Business Process Owners from various LYB Divisions to understand their business goals and process improvement needs
• Participate as an active member of the ERP Global leadership team helping to drive strategy.

Financial Management: 

• Responsible for strategic vendor, resource and budget management, budget and resource forecasting and efficient management of total cost of ownership for the ERP  & SAP products
• Accountable for ERP License Management and Optimization

Area of Expertise, Requirements

• Expertise in ERP/SAP systems both on-premise and cloud applications(public and private) and technical architecture, including ERP/SAP solutions, customizations/development and integration with different other systems
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills and ability to work with both internal business and external digital technology partners 
• Strategic thinker with the ability to align ERP/SAP capabilities with business objectives;
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, IT governance, and business process optimization;
• Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and ERP/SAP innovations. 
• Ability to travel approximately 35 percent, domestically and internationally.

Min. Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, Engineering, or other related discipline

Work Experience 

• Minimum 10 years of prior IT project management experience in strategizing, planning and implementing enterprise level systems, highly preferred
• Minimum 15 years of ERP experience(4-5 full cycle Implementation, Enhancements, Customizations, Upgrades and Releases)  required preferably in SAP
• Knowledge of ERP/SAP architecture, market trends, operations and business drivers required
• Ability to propose and present a convincing business case and product roadmap to executive management
• Experience in Enterprise Data Management & reporting tools and processes 
• Languages English, additional language preferred
