Security Operations Engineer

Basic Function

The Network Security Engineer plays a vital role in our Global Network Security team, responsible for designing, engineering, and delivering robust network security solutions. This position focuses on successfully implementing, integrating, and deploying network security solutions while closely collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
As our team adapts to business needs and market trends, members are encouraged to specialize in new areas such as Cloud Security (Azure), compliance and audit through the development and maintenance of orchestration tools (Tufin), and automation skills to streamline and optimize network security operations.
Additionally, the Network Security Engineer provides consulting services to other teams and serves as a level 3 escalation point for operational network security issues. This position actively engages in complex problem management to enhance user satisfaction, as measured by various KPIs and metrics.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Deploy and configure Next-Generation Firewalls (PaloAlto), utilizing advanced features such as userId, ssl-D, appID, templates, and device groups.
• Manage firewall and intrusion detection system policies to ensure effective network security controls.
• Collaborate on designs, implementations, and documentation of network security solutions, incorporating cloud technologies and automation frameworks.
• Evaluate new technologies and processes to enhance security capabilities, with a particular focus on SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) and ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access).
• Assist in investigating intrusion incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and contribute to incident response activities.
• Stay updated on emerging network security technologies and industry trends, leveraging them to propose innovative solutions and enhance delivery processes.

Min. Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•    Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer, with a strong focus on engineering and delivering network security solutions.
•    Proficiency in designing firewall architectures, intrusion detection systems, and access control mechanisms.
•    Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies. 
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. 
•    Experience with cloud technologies (Azure) and SD-WAN solutions is highly desirable
•    Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) and orchestration tools like Tufin is highly desirable.
•    Experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF), Load Balancing, and DNS/DDoS protection is desirable. 
•    Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, or similar are a plus. 
•    Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) related to network security is beneficial.
