Basic Function

SAP Test Manager brings the breadth and depth of SAP S/4 Hana and testing (automation) expertise to LYB’s business transformation. He/ she will work as a Lead for some of the most strategic initiatives around growing & upgrading the core, building a profitable Circular & Low Carbon Solutions Business and stepping up performance and culture.
The SAP Test Manager would oversee the quality assurance of our SAP S4 Hana Solution. The Lead would be  responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting on testing activities. The role requires high degree of collaboration with developers, product managers, and customers to ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and usability.
This role will be responsible for drafting Unit, Integration, and Regression testing strategies for our ECC & SAP S4 Hana solution. The SAP Test Manager will identify and drive new test automation through test case planning, and oversee the development, execution, and tracking of test activities across projects and releases. 

A key responsibility of the Testing Manager is to continuously identify and drive process and tool improvements to enhance the efficiency of the Testing organization. 

The SAP Test Manager manages the Testing Team, which includes Employee & Vendor onshore and offshore testing resources, and work with the Release Management Team to coordinate Regression Testing and Defect Management activities in conjunction with the periodic release of changes to the system.

Roles & Responsibilities

The SAP Test Manager is responsible for the following activities:

  • Define Best Practice Testing Strategies for Unit, Integration and Regression testing for SAP S4 Hana solution
  • Plan and Implement methodologies for Interface testing
  • Define Entry and Exit criteria for System Integration and User Acceptance testing
  • Manage a team comprised of Employee & Vendor off-shore and on-shore resources
  • Identify and implement improvements to the testing process via operational improvements to the testing processes and tools
  • Ensure the development & execution of a robust Automated Unit, Integration and Regression Test Suite which covers the testing of  identified key critical business processes
  • Coordinate IT System and Functional Testing via interaction with Functional Developers and IT Business Analysts
  • Manage the end-to-end defect management process in order to drive resolution of defects
  • Manage new automation opportunities via interaction with IT and Business users
  • Manage training programs on Testing tools and Test Management processes
  • Manage a team of resources to ensure progress of all Testing Team initiatives
  • Proactively identify and drive resolution of any Testing Team initiative issues
  • Manage reporting of testing initiatives to all stakeholders
  • Provide consulting in testing approaches and options for projects, releases, etc.

Min. Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, Computer Science or related discipline

Work Experience: 

•    Minimum of 15 years of experience with SAP Software Testing/Quality Assurance required
•    5 years’ experience in implementing test strategies for ECC, SAP S4 Hana Private Edition and Public Cloud
•    5 years’ experience in test management tools Tricentis TOSCA, Q-test 
•    5 years’ experience in managing teams of testing resources
•    Understanding of functional business process to test case mapping
•    Understanding of SAP Activate Methodology
•    Proven background in large scale SAP project delivery and maintenance and support
•    Experience in developing test plans, test cases and test procedures for ECC, SAP S4 Hana, as well as, Web based functionality
•    Experience with logging, reporting and managing defects from detection through resolution for software/application testing
•    Experience with creation and publication of testing related metrics utilizing dashboards
•    Experience interfacing with resources across the business and IT
•    Experience with coordinating testing activities across multiple projects
