SAP Application Development, Specialist

Basic Function

The candidate will review and provide guidance for the various technical projects of the Global Technology Services (GTS) team. This position will be a technical track and not have any direct reports but rather focus strictly on technology and application to the LYB environment. The role will work closely with the leadership to uncover opportunities to apply technology, provide technical oversight on projects, and be the principal technologist for their area of expertise. The position will perform the day-to-day duties on the team, work on call, etc.; in addition to being the go-to technical expert for their area of expertise.

Roles & Responsibilities

•  Plan, test and implement advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture
• Build techna ical vision for the Global Technology Services team on improvements in development processes to include security; included but not limited to development and deployment of secure web applications.
• Implement POCs and pilots to refine the vision and include the processes, tools and skills for security-driven development
• Adapt best practices in the SecDevOps methodology for application development
• Work as an integral part of the Development team
• help and consulting to team members on secure coding practices,
• design and practice security driven development,
• drive the adoption of the tools and process to be more security driven,
• be responsible for assuring the quality of the application capabilities for a variety of 
• legacy and modernized systems and applications
• develop the framework and applications, to show case security driven development, in and outside of projects
• Collaborate with other software developers, stakeholders, and end users to continue developing automated security testing or centralized security libraries, enabling them to more easily write secure code.
• Work closely with members of the development, tests, and operations teams to troubleshoot build breaks, enforcement of software quality security standards, and proper communication of the package’s installation steps to operations for both non-production and production environments
• Act as the Global Technology Services technical liaison to interface with Network, Security, 
• Application Support, etc. team stakeholders to ensure roadmap alignment and share information
• Organize on-going security testing and code review to improve software security
• Identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiency
• Participate in the team's work at all levels of the architecture, providing technical project and architecture documentation
• Evaluate and integrate security protocols into existing software applications and programs
• Stay informed on new tools and best practices of the industry
• Regularly meet with key vendors and identify new potential vendor relationships that enhance 
• IT ability to enable the business
• Attend training and maintain relevant industry certifications

Min. Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing and developing web applications
• 3+ years of experience in security incorporation in app development
• 3+ years of experience in the design and implementation of SecDevOps
• Good understanding of all aspects of security research and development
• Significant software development experience in.NET and/or Java
• Experience on Azure DevOps is a must
• Excellent knowledge of web related technologies (Web applications٫ Web Services and Service 
Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
• Prior experience with continuous integration, test automation, SecDevOps
• Ability to design and document technical solutions related to continuous integration and 
continuous deployment
• Demonstrated experience with containerization platforms (e.g. Kubernetes, PKS, and Docker) 
• Experience using GIT source code control
• Experience mentoring developers.
• Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to articulate 
complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience identifying security issues through code review
• Experience driving technical conversations with stakeholders at various levels within an 
organization, including clients, IT technicians/managers and C-level executives
• Ability to present technical solutions to audiences of varying technical expertise
• Ability and experience presenting technology to executive level staff – both oral and written
