Basic Function
The role is a technical & supervisory position for the engineering office at Mumbai. The person would be involved in providing Mechanical Engineering services from Mumbai office to NA/EAI Sites.
Area of Expertise and Requirements:
• Ability to specify all rotary machines and Machinery Packages
• Expertise in the preparation & review of Mechanical Data Sheet, Requisition, vendor offer evaluation, Technical Queries to offer, Technical Bid Analysis and vendor document review of Rotary equipment & packages (Pumps, compressors, Cooling Tower, Refrigeration Package, Dosing packages, material handling equipment like hoist, cranes, etc.)
• Awareness of machine monitoring system
• Knowledge of maintenance activities & spare parts management
• Knowledge of safety systems in Hydrocarbon plants
• Know-how of quality management system / requirement
• Good communication skills
• Software Proficiency:
o Skilled in using Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
o Preferred knowledge of AutoCAD & Plant 3D model software.
• Knowledge of International Codes:
o Well-versed in API, ISO, ANSI, IEC, ATEX, NFPA and other relevant international codes and standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
As Owner’s Lead Engineer Role for Capital Projects: Reviewing Engineering Deliverables from Engineering Alliance Partner : Assessing from the owner’s perspective.
• Scope Review: Ensuring alignment with project scope & objectives.
• Mediation: Mediation among stake holders such as site, R&D, SMEs, project team, and engineering contractors.
• Deviation Management: Handling and managing deviations.
• Participation: Engaging in 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, risk reviews, ISO audit.
• Value Engineering: applying value engineering mindset in capital projects.
As Lead Engineer Role for Site Projects:
• Scope finalization & estimation: Coordinating closely with the site to work out scope, scheduling & estimating workhours.
• Local Engineering Contractor Coordination & control: Providing Inputs, Guiding Contractor Engineer, Reviewing deliverables & Expediting.
• Integrity Assessment: Assessing adequacy, Rerating, and retrofitting of existing equipment.
• Value Engineering: applying value engineering mindset in site managed projects.
Min. Qualifications
Education
• Minimum qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience
• Minimum 6 years of relevant post qualification experience in design (Domestic and International) with reputed engineering companies. Preferably should have also worked in Refining and Petrochemical industry in design/maintenance.
Other skills
• Preferable to have knowledge/experience of HVAC system
• Preferable to have ISO 9001-2015 QMS - Lead Auditor Certification
