Basic Function

The ERP Archiving Lead will play a pivotal role in our organization by overseeing the strategic management and implementation of archiving solutions within our SAP and non-SAP ERP systems.. This position  will be responsible for developing and executing an effective archiving strategy that encompasses the archiving of data objects in SAP ECC, S/4 HANA and non-SAP ERP and connected systems. This i involves a comprehensive understanding of LYB Global Record Management Policy, working with business to classify data, managing data retention & deletion schedules as per global record management policy, compliance with audit requirements, and the seamless decommissioning of legacy systems. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders across IT and business units to communicate archiving needs and deliver tailored solutions and enhance operational efficiency.
ERP  Archiving Lead will provide leadership to all strategic initiatives around growing & upgrading the core, building a profitable Circular & Low Carbon Solutions Business and stepping up performance and culture.
A significant focus of this role will be on implementing and managing advanced archiving technologies, such as OpenText Archiving, SAP ILM solutions, to streamline document storage and retrieval processes. The Archiving Lead will also develop data volume management strategies to improve database performance and reduce costs associated with data storage. 

Roles & Responsibilities

The ERP Archiving Lead would have the following responsibilities:

  • Archiving Strategy Development: Design and implement an effective archiving strategy for SAP/non-SAP ERP systems, aligning with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Project Management: Lead archiving projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Data Governance: Establish data governance policies related to archiving, including retention & deletion schedules, data integrity, and compliance with regulations.
  • Archiving Data Objects: Manage archiving of data objects within SAP ECC, S/4 HANA and non-SAP ERP systems based on audit and data retention requirements, ensuring compliance with legal and business standards.
  • Legacy System Decommissioning: Oversee the decommissioning of legacy ERP systems, ensuring proper data migration, archiving, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • System Configuration: Configure and maintain  Archiving tools and processes, including OpenText Archive, ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) and data deletion policies.
  • OpenText Archive Solutions: Implement and manage OpenText Archiving solutions, ensuring seamless integration with SAP/non-SAP systems and optimizing document storage and retrieval.
  • Data Volume Management: Develop and execute data volume management strategies to optimize database performance and reduce storage costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, compliance, and business units to understand archiving needs and provide solutions that support operational efficiency.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and end-users on archiving processes and best practices.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of archiving processes, policies, and procedures. 
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve issues related to archiving, including data retrieval challenges and system errors.

Min. Qualifications

Job Specifications:
Required experience, skills, professional attributes and qualities include the following:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, Computer Science or related discipline

Work Experience: 

  • 15+ years of experience in SAP or non-SAP ERP systems, with a strong focus on Data Archiving, Data Volume Management, and Legacy System Decommissioning 
  • Proven background in large scale SAP project delivery and maintenance and support
  • Demonstrated experience in decommissioning legacy systems, including data migration and archiving processes

Skills and experience: 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Archiving tools such as Open Text, ILM concepts, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with SQL, ABAP, and database(HANA) management is a plus.
  • Database Management: Familiarity with database management concepts and practices
  • Data Governance: Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices related to data retention and compliance
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects, with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights. 
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at different levels in the organization.
