Basic Function
This position (1) provide focused technical support to key and selective accounts as well as new potential customers in customers in India based on account Manager sales region (2) Support market and application development activities in assigned account manager sales region, ensuring that they are aligned with BIT strategy (3) Gather necessary technical and market trend information and provide inputs for product development opportunities to address market needs and support to develop business cases for new product developments.
Roles & Responsibilities
Technical Service
- Ensures timely and effective technical support to key and selective customers for effective use of Lyondellbasell products with proper value in use positioning
- Troubleshoots and resolves processing problem and application by providing recommendations or on-site technical support for trials
- Ensures that product quality complaints are reported investigated and closed within stipulated period and
- corrective actions initiated wherever required
- Training of customers and internal staff for use and benefit of LYB products
- Establish good network with key internal and external stakeholders including customers, machinery manufacturers, OEMs or end users and industry forums
Market / application development
- Establish / obtain approval for LYB products at new potential customers for LYB grades
- Promotes and establishes the new development grades actively at existing and new customers fulfilling the development grade sales targets for all customers in India as per account manager region.
- Develop customer specific value propositions for new business development in line with the objectives of business plan
- Ensure that the samples are delivered in cost efficient manner to the customer
- Work with end users to obtain approvals for LYB products
- Gather necessary technical and market trend information, competitor situation and provide feedback regarding any product quality improvements needed and new market requirements
- Work with processors/ end users for inter-material replacement opportunities
- Provide technical support to official distributors for expanding the business Product development / Innovation
- Capture new market needs for product development.
- Ensure the alignment of innovation project with AFMEI business strategy, supply source strategy and LYB innovation platforms
- Support execution of other innovation programmes in the region with feedback on customer trials and approvals.

Product Stewardship and Product risk management
- Advise customers on safe use of LYB products for the intended application
- Assess potential risk for use of LYB products in end-use application
- Complete HRAF forms and get required approvals for medical applications
- Address regulatory requirements of customers in consultation with Product Stewardship.
- Ensure that regulatory information disseminated to the customers is documented
- Ensure that external communication is appropriately approved before publishing
Min. Qualifications
Education:
- University degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or technical field.
- Strong technical knowledge in Polymers and processing. Application requirements University-level
- Business Economics, Post graduation degree in Marketing/Business/Economics .
Work Experience:
8-10 years of experience in a technical environment, such as R&D, product/application development, manufacturing with a proven knowledge of LyondellBasell’s products and associated applications, in particular in the relevant application segment.
Domestic and international work experience, providing technical service and leading market/application development at international level.
