Mechanical Engineer HDPE (m/f/d) (NewCo)

 

 

 

Announcement:

 

In June 2025, LYB announced entering into an agreement and exclusive negotiations for the sale of four olefins & polyolefins sites and the associated business in Europe. The sites to be sold are located in Berre (France), Münchsmünster (Germany), Carrington (UK), and Tarragona (Spain). The sites together represent a scaled olefins and polyolefins platform strategically located in proximity to a longstanding customer base and with access and connectivity to key infrastructure. 

 

Closing of the proposed transaction is currently expected in the first half of 2026. From the start, the new company will be a scaled leader in European Olefins & Polyolefins. Powered by strategically located assets, a diverse product portfolio, and operational excellence, it aims to transform the business, fostering an agile, entrepreneurial culture where fast decision-making and hands-on collaboration drive transformation and growth.

 

Are you ready?

 

You will be crucial to a successful transition and, when the sale is closed, success of the new company. You will become part of a new dynamic organization with around 1,800 employees, headquarters in Rotterdam and production sites in France, Germany, UK and Spain with a strong focus on customer excellence.

 

 

Day in the Life:

 

  • Assure reliability and safe operation of plant equipment
  • Coordination and management of maintenance task
  • Analyse of failures and root causes and definition of corrective measures
  • Preparation and realisation of plant shut downs
  • Implementation of small project and plant changes
  • Leading continuous improvement activities
  • Identify and lead initiatives to increase plant availability
  • Identify and lead initiatives to increase cost effectiveness
  • Participate to benchmarks activities
  • Technical support for operations
  • Support for BVW, AhA, BBS
  • Support for project and process technology group
  • Seeks and communicates best maintenance practices from in- and outside site
  • Knowledge Management/Networking
  • Occupational safety and quality assurance
  • Asset management in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Contractor Management
  • Supervise all activities of spare parts handling in order to meet all requirements regarding quality, productivity and costs.
  • Perform commissioning and start up tasks
  • Update of documentation

 

 

You Bring This Value:

 

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering 
  • Experience in maintenance, engineering or operations is desirable
  • IT experience (MS office Packages, SAP R/3)
  • Knowledge of technical legislation and regulations is desirable
  • Good communication skills (fluent written and oral in German and English)
