Basic Function
The Electrical Reliability Engineer is responsible for the reliability, maintenance and operation of the Morris Site’s electrical distribution system. Thorough knowledge of medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, motor and motor control, relay coordination, predictive and preventive maintenance concepts, as well as troubleshooting skills are needed to effectively analyze and maintain reliable equipment performance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and expertise to ensure the electrical system is maintained per industry and corporate standards
- Provide maintenance support by assisting E&I supervisors, specialists, technicians, planners and engineers in troubleshooting issues and problems
- Maintain, optimize and implement preventive maintenance program and special emphasis programs for the electrical distribution system
- Participate on capital project teams by assisting with the development of design and installation specifications, commissioning plans, evaluation of equipment and providers, develop acceptance tests and inspection plans.
- Ensure proper project close out by updating equipment lists, SOPs, spare parts and filing of final project documents.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Maintain awareness of emerging technology, assessing applicability to improve reliability and performance, or to reduce maintenance cost
- Systematically define, develop, maintain and implement the site electrical long-range plan
- Participate on plant and company-wide teams that develop strategic plans for reliability performance improvement and lead site implementation
- Support unit outages and site turnarounds
Min. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
- Typically has a minimum of 10+ years of industrial experience in petrochemical / refining industry
- Demonstrated knowledge in the field of electrical design, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, and safe electrical work practices
- Working knowledge of industry codes such as applicable ANSI/IEEE, API, NFPA, IEC
- Experience in electrical system studies using SKM Power Tools software or equivalent including Arc Flash Studies and Arc Flash mitigation techniques
- Strong communication skills, rapport building, analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are critical

The anticipated salary range for this position is $133,920 - $184,140. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
