Specialist, Master Data Management

Basic Function

Responsible for central Master Data Management of all raw material, finished and semi-finished products for O&P, I&D and APS businesses in Asia Pacific.  This position to support BPSS organization to creates, maintain, and implement master data management solutions that enable users to optimize system capabilities. Uses knowledge of end-to-end data processes to analyse the data flow and enrich master data elements to ensure the data flows efficiently and consistently between key users and stakeholders. Being Specialist, Master Data Management provides data governance and serve as liaison between business and functional areas and technology to ensure master data integrity across the organization.  Troubleshoots issues related to master data, helps to resolve data quality problems through appropriate choice of data error detection and correction, process control and improvement. Identifies opportunities for data quality improvement. Additionally, may assume Master Data Lead for a work group in small to large-scale projects. Be Specialist, Master Data Management to manage on complex technical and business matters related to Master Data ensure system and process alignment.

Roles & Responsibilities

1) Ensure that all master data for the different businesses are maintained in line with business requirements and according to the guidelines and standards of the company in regards to legal requirements, tax and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (i.e. SOX) compliance.

2) Assure that all requests for creation or changes are validated upfront and only complete requests from authorized persons are processed.

3) Sound knowledge about Order to Cash (i.e. O2C) processes and implication of Master Data changes to these processes.

4) Excellent knowledge of processes and responsibilities to be able to support other users with all kind of questions related to master data management

5) Close cooperation with other departments e.g. Product Safety, REACH-team, Technical Service, Product Development, Trade Compliance to make sure all  data in critical fields is maintained in the appropriate way to support all Compliance related processes.

6) Close cooperation with Finance and Controlling to ensure requirements are understood and all data is maintained according to agreed standards.

7) Prepare and execute complex mass changes of master data including  detailed scope definition and risk assessment.

8) Review processes and procedures related to Master Data and look for process improvements and required updates.

9) Close collaboration with other team members in Product & Supply China team.

10) Support small to large-scale projects and enhancements by carefully testing of processes/functionalities and reports.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Supply Chain management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in an international business environment.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, written and spoken.
  • Excellent knowledge of the SAP system and system landscape and connected systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office (Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Access).
  • Good understanding of order fulfilment knowledge is a must. General knowledge about, logistics, planning and manufacturing process.
