Basic Function

This position is responsible for technical maintanence issues. The individual assists the maintenance department with the resolution of technical issues with equipment and processes, the establishment of reliability programs, and the justification and implementation of capital projects for utilities, buildings, facility infrastructure and major equipment overhaul programs.  This position will also be responsible for capital improvement projects in the plant.

Roles & Responsibilities

Equipment Reliability (50%)   
• Improve effectiveness of predictive and preventative maintenance programs
• Resolve major reliability issues through use of contemporary TPM practices
• Establish processes and procedures for the capitalization of Maintenance spare parts.
• Planning, estimating, coordinating and scheduling of major manufacturing equipment overhauls and maintaining a database of budgeted overhaul costs.


Capital and Expense Project (50%)    
• Develop justification and implementation of capital projects for buildings and grounds, and maintenance reliability issues.
• Lead or participate in Maintenance improvement projects
• Develop scope of work for capital projects
• Perform design engineering
• Review and supervise engineering work performed by engineering contractors
• Coordinate plant improvement projects with internal customers

Min. Qualifications

The position requires knowledge emphasis of mechanical and electrical equipment and predictive maintenance practices (e.g. ultrasound monitoring, vibration monitoring, infrared imaging etc.).
Previous experience with capital project management, rotating equipment, and facilities equipment and processes is recommended.  A Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is the minimum education level required for this position plus 5 to 10 years of plant engineering/maintenance reliability experience.



Must be at least 18 years of age and must be legally authorized to work in the United States (US) on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
