Logistics Supervisor, I&D

Basic Function

This position is to lead and manage the logistics operations for I&D products in Singapore & other South East Countries to meet the business needs. Key responsibilities include management of product storage and distribution at our 3PL terminals and warehouses, vessel chartering for liquid chemical cargo, delivery arrangements with freight forwarders, as well as inbound and outbound shipments via Singapore storage tank.     

Roles & Responsibilities

Logistics Operation: 
•    Manage logistics functions; terminal, warehouse, trucking, surveyor, package and customs broker in Asia to ensure the daily logistics operation functions are conducted smoothly and efficiently
•    Communications and Dialog closely and interface with inter-department especially Finance, Sales & Marketing and Customer Services to ensure that all understand the current state of the business and to build alignment

Logistics Commercial: 
•    Support to develop and execute commercial sourcing strategies for logistics negotiations, and perform economic analysis for logistics services and assets required 
•    Optimize logistics distribution plans to attain cost effectiveness
•    Arrange regular KPI review meeting with Logistics vendor

Vessel Chartering for I&D (Liquid Chemical cargo) in Intra Asia:
•    Interface with freight market players and brokers for chartering vessel
•    Commercially minded with good negotiation skills and possess the ability to make tactical market positioning  when negotiating Liquid chemical charter 

Logistics Compliance:
•    Support to provide technical expertise on all equipment specifications for transporting LYB products 
•    Support to monitor Logistics vendor to comply with LYB compliance requirement, and process to complete for due diligence and ILRs procedure

Customer Complaint:
•    Coordinate with the relevant parties for the root causes investigation, and correct actions develop for QN related to logistics operation

Project Management:
•    Bring in experience, to set up the quality management/logistics operation flow, address issues and challenge current practices
 

Min. Qualifications


Education: 
University / college degree preferably in international trade, business discipline; professional qualification in supply chain or logistics management

Work Experience: 
•    Minimum 5 years experiences working in multi-national company in Supply Chain functions  (customer service, shipping, logistics, distribution, procurement)
•    Knowledge of international trade or supply chain functions preferably on Logistics Operations Procedures
•    Familiar with and have a good working knowledge of chemical vessel chartering & have technical chartering experience in chemical liquid industry experience is preferred.

•    Manage the delivery aspects in an Distribution hub of obscure rules and constantly changing distribution patterns
•    Exercise strong communication skills internally and externally in order to achieve the objectives of the Supply Chain functions
•    Creative in developing cost saving programs to meet the business strategy, increase efficiency, and align procedures.
•    Strict compliance with local regulation, Distribution Standard and procedures, operating guidelines, and company Internal Control Policies & Procedures.
•    Special attention is also required to ensure the adherence to the Logistics Code of Practice as well as conforming to corporate commitment to Responsible Care & product Stewardship
•    Regular training and review will be essential to ensure smooth distribution operations are carried out
•    Strong interface with Customer Service, Ops, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain Management group
•    Externally, a constant dialogue will be necessary with a diverse range of contracted services and logistics service providers.

Functional Skills:

1)    Good knowledge of operations planning, plant, logistics & customer service operations skills in SEA
2)    Negotiation skills for preparation, strength & weakness analyses
3)    Competency using the MS Office suite of products to Advanced level; plus SAP (Sales & Distribution, Materials, Inventory modules) and specialized documentation software as appropriate
4)    Independent and decisive with ability to lead and delegate responsibilities.
5)    Articulate and tactful negotiator and good understanding of business partner relationships

Languages:
•    Fluent in English and Mandarin written and spoken is essential.
