Basic Function

The Site Manager at Jackson (JKO) has the significant responsibility of achieving GoalZero (GZ) at the Site and must embody this value to be successful in their leadership role.  A high degree of ownership is required as they are accountable for achieving the Sites HSE, quality, production, customer service, reliability, fiscal, and continuous improvement objectives through effective leadership, applying sound management principals, and assuring effective teamwork.  Accountable for all aspects of performance and for all personnel working on site.  Responsible for the professional development and career advancement of team members.  Participates as a member of the overall USCAN APS Manufacturing Management Team and as member of other Manufacturing and Company teams.  All objectives must be met in accordance with the company Values and Competencies.

Roles and Responsibilities

An overview of the roles and responsibilities for the position of Site Manager include but are not limited to:
•    Site Leadership:  Lead in a manner consistent with the LyondellBasell Leadership Principles through the application of the LyondellBasell Competencies.  Actively engage with the site workforce in the field / shop floor.  Set expectations concerning continual improvement in GoalZERO performance and lead the organization in achievement of safety goals and objectives.  Lead the change agenda by guiding the organization through the line organization and embracing a continuous improvement strategy.  Develop and encourage managers, supervisors, and employees to think and act independently in alignment with clearly established and communicated expectations.  Define clear roles and responsibilities for the site staff, provide authority to meet these roles and responsibilities and hold the organization accountable.  Identify the business and organizational needs of the site, ensure site organization is efficient and effective, and develop employees to meet these needs.  Value and champion diversity, inclusion and equity.  Ensure manufacturing systems are in place, functioning well and monitored through appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  Understand, communicate and act on site financial plans and results.
•    Manufacturing Leadership: As an active member of the USCAN APS Manufacturing Staff, participate in the development and execution of manufacturing direction/strategy. Work with other Site Managers to define and advance strategies to ensure manufacturing effectiveness through world class people, processes and assets.
•    Company Leadership: Develop working relationships and goal alignment with other Site and functional managers.  Develop an understanding of Company goals and objectives to ensure that site activities are aligned with other functional groups.  Champion initiatives and innovation to pursue best practices within the organization and to identify and capture opportunities for synergies. Be an active participant in Company’s Sustainability, Circular and Low Carbon initiatives.
•    HSE:  Ensure appropriate processes and systems are in place and lead the effort to maintain compliance with LyondellBasell Operational Excellence standards and applicable regulatory agency requirements.  Behaviorally, act as a role model for required GoalZERO HSE safety performance. Act as signature authority for all compliance documentation.  Ensure ethical behavior and regulatory compliance by all site personnel.  Ensure Security of the sites personnel and assets on Company property.  JKO partners with GJO to support GoalZERO HSE objectives.  
•    Quality:  Ensure quality management processes and systems are in place both in procedure and practice that meet IATF and ISO quality standards.  Create an environment that promotes and maintains open relationships with customers to anticipate needs and respond to concerns.  Drive product quality, consistency, and on-time service through documented Quality Management Systems (QMS).  Assure maintenance and advancement of LYB’s competitive advantage through continuous improvement of quality systems and process capabilities.  Monitor quality metrics to measure performance and guide actions in achieving quality objectives.

•    Planning and Resource Management: Define and communicate clear vision, mission, and goals for the site, ensure alignment with the Company’s vision and business drivers.  Ensure goal alignment throughout the site organization and lead the organization to achievement of goals.  Develop plans to execute corporate initiatives.  Champion capital projects consistent with business strategy, regulatory compliance and Company programs.  Perform within budgets and production plans.  Actively manage site headcount to achieve highest value earned at the site and to ensure team effectiveness.  Ensure professional development of site employees and organization.
•    Communications: Develop a workplace environment which allows for good communication up, down, and across the organization and ensures the Performance Management process is being used effectively. Promote a sense of openness and trust, coupled with a sense of ownership and accountability. Through staff and supervision, communicate corporate and site vision and expectations to the work force to build alignment.  Communicate with staff and site to ensure all understand the current status of business performance.
•    Employee Relations:  Lead and manage the site according to the cultural expectations of LYONDELLBASELL whereby all employees are treated with respect, have equal opportunity and receive feedback. Champion and proactively address issues and concerns of site employees. Ensure site-wide development process is functional, developing a learning organization which shares and builds upon lessons learned from experience.  Ensure the LyondellBasell Code of Conduct and all other LyondellBasell policies are consistently followed and administered to ensure diversity, inclusion and equity within the entire workforce.
•    Customer Relations:  Working within the site, with other functional areas and with customers, create value by satisfying customer requirements, meeting commitments and providing quality products and services.  Champion product quality and customer focus aligned with APS At Your Service! expectations.  Advance continual improvement in the quality system and applicable quality certifications.
•    Community Relations: Represent the site/company in the community and develop political contacts with local government and community organizations. Establish and maintain facility environmental, safety, and health standards to minimize employee as well as community exposure.  Be the LyondellBasell ambassador within the local community and positively represent the company in community events.
 

Min. Qualifications

•    Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience
•    Minimum of eight (8) years of leadership experience in supervisory or management positions
•    A general knowledge and understanding of site operations, capacity planning and sound manufacturing principles
•    Experience with Operational Excellence programs and Continuous Improvement in leadership and contributing roles
•    Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills including the ability to interface with internal & external customer contacts
•    Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively at all levels of the organization
•    Must possess a high level of personal initiative, be capable of independent decision-making and work effectively with minimal supervision
•    Knowledge of quality systems and standards with a focus on driving continuous improvement
•    Able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
•    Capable of building and leading through teamwork with orientation for driving for results
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
•    General experience using ERP systems such as SAP

Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience with process technologies utilized at the manufacturing site.
•    Fifteen (15) years of manufacturing experience
•    Knowledge of general engineering and technology principles and practices
•    Working knowledge of SAP functionality
•    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
