Materials Inventory Technician 2

Basic Function

This incumbent will promote/support/encourage Safety First within the plant to maintain HSE standards. This position is responsible for SAP entry of production, and provides general admin support to the business.  This position is also responsible to assist/backup areas of Raw Materials Reporting/Accuracy, maintaining accurate perpetual inventory records through cycle counts, and the reconciliation of Cycle Counts. This position is also responsible for daily paperwork/scheduling requirements of the Premix Operations (intermediates). The incumbent must keep positive working relationships with all areas of the plant as well as other sister plants. This position is also responsible for the assist/backup of shipping. This position is classified as an SAP expert  resource for PCMA in modules of PP/PI, MM, and WM; production, raw materials logistics. This position works closely with Raw Materials Coordinator, Production, and Quality Dept.

Roles & Responsibilities

1) Promote/support/encourage the health, safety and environmental initiatives and programs at the Jackson facility.
•    Work in a safe and effective manner.
•    Follow all safety and environmental procedures.
•    Attend monthly safety meetings.
•    Perform safety observations.
•    Report all Near Misses and incidents.
•    No recordables.

2)  Responsible  for SAP entry of production, and provides general admin support to the business.
•    Ensure SAP production order has been costed for primary material and intermediates.
•    Correct any errors in order regrading Item Category’s, lot numbers, order release, material shortages, material substitutions, etc. 
•    Utilize re-entry of any leftovers/ma returns/quality hold rework into upcoming runs.
•    SAP entry of completed lot folder (production ran), analyze/adjust based on downloads, consumption reports, pack-out summary, and QA Hold Forms.
•    Verify total finished pounds entered as available-to-ship
•    Verify and reclass all finished materials on QA Hold Forms to QA HOLD or SA500 status  ( lots assigned with “R” or “Z” ) and batch classification test fields filled out with reasons.
•    Enter all Raw material consumptions; based on reported lot/location/qty reported.
•    Reclass or write off raw materials for any reported purge, day-bin drainage not returned to location, scrap  from spills or blown transfer lines, etc., 
•    Arrange paperwork in lot file and in SAP technically Complete ( TECO ) after all entry and adjustments and place order in lot file cabinets.

 3)  Assist/backup areas of Raw Materials Reporting/Accuracy, maintaining accurate perpetual inventory records through cycle counts and the reconciliation of Cycle Counts.
•    Assist/backup perform cycle counts
•    Assist/backup for Analyze/reconcile variances and follow with corrective action.
•    Assist/backup for Reconcile of SAP bulk inventory to mirror physical inventory on/off site.
•    Assist/backup all physical inventories are completed and necessary adjustments are carried out monthly, quarterly as required per bin locations.
•    Perform spot-checks, work with personnel on any needs for inventory adjustments/errors.
•    Provide suggestions/new ideas that will improve inventory accuracy to 95%

4)   Responsible for daily paperwork/scheduling requirements of the Premix Operations (intermediates)
•    Create intermediate codes and SAP Color Order number
•    Convert planned orders to production order in SAP 
•    Correct any errors in order regrading Item Category’s, lot numbers, order release, material shortages, material substitutions, etc. 
•    Maintain ma returns inventory and status

5)   Responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with all areas of the plant, tollers, Corporate, as well as other sister plants. This position is classified as an SAP expert  resource for PCMA in modules of PP/PI, MM, and WM; production, raw materials logistics
•    Provide users with SAP transaction support
•    Conduct training/assistance for SAP users. 
•    Assist in creating, in SAP, usable “custom” reports needed with custom views.  Define the need and data required, identify in SAP a transaction to use and create a variant
•    Perform SAP cleanup on daily basis or all errors, issues concerning Raw Materials. And notify Finished Materials Logistics of issues needing resolution

6)   Responsible for backup/assist of shipping.
•    Pull appropriate reports.
•    Schedule trucks for pickups with delivery creation.
•    Data entry/update all shipping relevant spreadsheets and forms.
•    Ensure BOLs are correct and that trailers are going to correct customer. 
 

Min. Qualifications

Education:

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, but would prefer at least an Associate’s Degree in Business.

Work Experience:

This position demands eight years’ experience working in Warehouse Management, Materials Management and Production Planning Modules in SAP as well as much familiarity with Operations, Logistics and Accounting.  Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Products are needed. Typing and computer skills are also necessary for daily job tasks.  Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary in this role.
