Basic Function

The Vice President, ERP Modernization is responsible to lead all aspects of the ERP transformation program and ensure a coherent quality delivery. The role functions under the guidance of the program sponsor, will act as the conduit between business and IT teams and manages the program outcomes working with the members of the Program Steering Committee.  Driving collaboration between business, process, technology and program teams and relevant 3rd parties will be essential to ensure successful delivery of the ERP program into the business.


The key focus of the VP will be to bring together the requirements of the business and the capabilities of the integrated solution, owning the key design principles and driving an optimum level harmonization in the processes and ERP environment/s.  Beyond the program, ensuring that a sustainable ‘run’ organization is set up and functioning to the business’ needs will also be within the objectives of this role.

 

This role will also ensure alignment with the operating model transformation and manage risks collaboratively with the Chief Transformation officer. The role can be based in London, UK, Rotterdam, The Netherlands or Houston, Texas. 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

General (Strategic Leadership)

  • Execute a comprehensive ERP strategy aligned with the agreed scope of the transformation for a $40B sustainability leader in the chemical industry.
    • 5-7 Direct Reports
    • 300+ staff and contractors
  • Provide leadership to the ERP program, fostering a culture of change adoption, collaboration coupled with innovation.

 

Program Delivery

  • Delivering through the full ERP program lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, to quality and budget
  • Understanding and managing the interdependencies with other key major programs.
  • Integrate between business and IT teams to effectively deliver program activities.
  • Working with the project teams to align and sequence rollouts and engage key stakeholders to accept the plans, manage communication plans and enable change management.
  • Ensure the cost, time, risk and quality trade-offs associated with design and technical decisions are clear.
  • Set up the organization that will help with stabilization and sustain the new solution and capabilities.

 

Program Governance

  • Establishing a program management office, putting in place an aligned program governance framework, aligning project plans and monitoring key activities. Establish a business rhythm with key milestones defined providing seamless reporting to the steering committee.
  • Set up Executive Design Authority and Technical Design Authority that can drive decision making on business process and technical changes.
  • Engagement with the executive steering committee and markets/business leaders to enable adoption of the transformation solution in the organization. 
  • Communicate with all stakeholders effectively.


Quality Assurance

  • Securing the appropriate resources and expertise internally from LYB and externally from the implementation partners ensuring the program has a good balance of internal talent and external capability.
  • Responsibility for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the program.
  • Lead the selection of and manage relevant third parties to the program as appropriate.
     

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Typically, 20+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience managing the implementation of large technology enabled transformation programs (SAP S/4 HANA).
  • Strong process knowledge across finance, commerce and supply chain.
  • Experience building, leading, managing, mentoring, motivating and coaching a cross functional project team (300 plus internal and externals) to deliver results.
  • Ability to influence others and effectively manage a wide array of stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships that can accelerate decision-making.
  • Ability to balance detail orientated thinking with big picture thinking.
  • Experience of working with and managing external partners.
  • Experience of managing large program budgets.
