Basic Function

The Training Specialist has the responsibility for working with internal teams to create innovative computer and electronic based training content.  The modules include delivery through mobility tools, tablets, Learning Management System (LMS), digital video systems, gaming, eLearning creation tools and other software packages on the market. Application of these tools will be for technical training supporting engineers, operators, maintenance and other technical roles as identified.
A working knowledge of instructional design and application to various learning technologies and experiential learning is desired.  The person in the role is expected to be proficient in the LMS portion of SuccessFactors, eLearning content development tools, video and audio capture software and graphic design applications.  Ability or willingness to learn and apply new technology appplications is expected. 


The position supports a global network of personnel and the ability to clearly communicate, manage individual projects, and deliver timely results is highly desired.  Partnership with IT, site personnel, GTLS team members and other key stakeholders to create SCORM compliant training modules, assessments and other on-demand learning resources is essential for success.  Ability to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical issues and limitations is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate technology learning tools on market for use within company to determine best options for various learning needs.
• Create learning content utilizing existing software and resources to improve technical knowledge delivery.
• Partner with key stakeholders for content development and approval to obtain ideas, delvelop plans, communicate status and create opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Apply graphic design and visual images to improve knowledge transfer initiatives to increase knowledge retention and ease of understanding.
 

Min. Qualifications

Education:
Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Instructional Design or related field or equivalent experience is preferred
Instructional Technology or eLearning development certification is preferred

Work Experience:
2+ years experience preferred in the hydrocarbon or learning & development industry
5+ years learning resources and technology

Ability to document and communicate project scopes, timelines and status updates
Experience with project management processes
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with key stakeholders
