Basic Function

The Senior manager for Forecasting, Management Reporting and Long Range Plan (‘LRP’) is responsible for delivering value and driving excellence in the following areas: Global Forecasting and Corporate Management Reporting; Global Long Range Plan process; Corporate Financial Analysis and Reporting to Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. This role, through a team of highly skilled managers and analysts, oversees the above processes, supports the global budget process and provides insightful analysis on market and industry trends, peer performance, and key metrics to FP&A leadership and key stakeholders. Further, this role is responsible for: Planning, consolidation, reporting, and analysis of 18-month rolling forecast; Preparation of monthly management reporting deliverables and any ad hoc financial performance analysis; Leading the global LRP process and driving effective cross functional teams, with but not limited to, FP&A Segment Controlling, BDA, SP&T, Tax, and Corporate Finance; Leading and mentoring a high performing team whereby he/she visibly leads and actively fosters a culture of inclusiveness and diversity, where employees feel valued, listened to and bring their whole selves to work; Driving continuous improvement in forecasting, management reporting and LRP processes. This role interacts directly with LYB leaders and act as a liaison with the Business, FP&A Segment Controlling, SP&T and the broader Finance organization. The overall team consists of 2 direct reports and 2 indirect reports and reports to the Associate Director of Corporate FP&A and Reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities

Business Interface

  • Partner directly with LYB leaders on Forecasting, Corporate Management Reporting and LRP.
  • Accountable for ensuring quality deliverables and delivering key insights to leadership both periodic and ad-hoc.
  • Partner with the businesses to collectively drive forecast accuracy, transparency and related linkages to enable better business decision and to support effective external guidance.
  • Partner with SP&T, Corporate Finance and other key stakeholders on strategic projects and ad hoc requests.

Operational Excellence

  • Design, develop and lead the Company’s forecasting, planning and corporate management reporting processes.
  • Lead the global LRP process and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Senior Manager, Budget and Fixed Cost Reporting with regards to annual Budget process.
  • Drive standardization and automation on Corporate reporting and analysis and define consistently applied methodologies/definitions for reporting and variance analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive financial models to support corporate strategy development.
  • Lead Corporate financial analysis and special projects.
  • Provide insightful input and analysis for STI reporting.  

People and Leadership

  • Lead and mentor team of 2 direct reports and 2 indirect reports.
  • Coach and develop team in achieving excellence in FP&A competencies, ensuring team members are continually challenged and developed in order to progress to the next level and/or role.
  • Contribute to a wider community through organizational initiatives and deliver inter-team improvement initiatives.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; finance, accounting or related discipline preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in finance or business analysis with strong evidence of leading an finance department preferred.
  • Advanced SAP and PC skills required. Expertise in SAP BW, BPC and/or Onestream highly desirable. 
  • Expertise in statistical forecasting and financial modeling highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with proficiency in mentoring, team development and project planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a sound understanding of chemical industry, manufacturing, business, and financial planning & analysis required.
  • Thorough understanding of financial and manufacturing accounting principles and corporate financial performance indicators.
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure management reporting and forecasting deliverables are timely, accurate and complete.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to drive and influence change in a functionally driven, diverse, multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for driving continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CFA, CPA or equivalent preferred.
