This position provides support to the regional C&LCS Financial Lead Business Development (BD) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and business partners with strategic, market, economic and technology analysis and provides assistance with valuation analyses of potential acquisition targets and assistance throughout the transaction process. Furthermore, this position may provide support in the identification and analysis of new feedstock opportunities and reporting of leads. This position may support various stages of LYB’s Forecasting and Planning process including Long Range Plan (LRP) and Annual Performance Plan.

A Day In The Life:

  • Initial analyses and business cases of potential partners and targets.
  • Preparation of documents for negotiations with partners and targets and internal decision making.
  • Analyses of potential feedstock opportunities and analyses of logistics providers.
  • Coordinating and validating input with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Commercial).
  • Maintain intelligence on market, pricing, supply/demand, trade flows, competitor profiles, segment mapping, cost curves benchmarks.
  • Support the LRP and financial planning process.
  • Execute first screening of project opportunities as they arise.
  • Support in preparing monthly business review reports, and presentations for Leadership Team and Board meetings.

You Bring This Value:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance 
  • MBA or other advanced degree is an advantage. 
  • Typically Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in planning, evaluation, business and financial analysis.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively as a team member, and achieve results through the contributions of other people within and outside the immediate organization 
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Solid information technology skills are required to access company data in support of performance management processes and to identify profitability improvement opportunities.
  • Advanced analytical skills including spreadsheets, database, graphics, statistical forecasting and modeling
  • Understanding of corporate finance, financial modeling and analytical tools (IRR, payback, EVA, NPV, etc).
  • Advanced PC skills, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, databases, graphics, financial modeling.
