The role of Sr Lead, ESG Reporting is being created to support the company’s sustainability ambition by ensuring that the company is well positioned to regularly produce investor grade Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) information. This position will support the enterprise efforts to:
- Establish and maintain a strong control environment for ESG Reporting
- Comply with upcoming ESG regulatory requirements (SEC, CSRD, and ISSB)
A Day In The Life:
General
- Participate in LYB’s implementation of ESG reporting
- Responsible for consolidating ESG data related to identified ESG metrics which may come from various internal and external sources.
- Monitor non-financial ESG information and ensure completeness and accuracy on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
- Analyze ESG data utilizing statistical methods and dashboards to identify trends and anomalies.
- Stays current with ESG regulations and requirements and proactively prepares stakeholders for new data requirements, controls, and reporting.
- Understands internal and external controls and processes to help deliver on the company’s ESG objectives.
- Facilitate requests from internal and external audit.
- Evaluate and drive continuous process improvement within the team.
- Perform SOX controls and maintain evidence of control for area of responsibility.
- Collaborate cross functionally and communicate effectively with various departments throughout the organization.
Area of Expertise, Requirements
- Support key business stakeholders in transforming the ESG reporting process, leverage experience and due diligence that LYB has developed around financial information to non-financial/ESG information.
- Support external ESG reporting, connecting different domains (e.g., external reporting, internal control, internal audit) with knowledge of processes and controls to help deliver on LYB’s ESG objectives and ensure that ERP (and other data management) systems properly configured to meet reporting requirements.
- Support the external assurance process of ESG data.
- Support updates to ESG reporting policies to ensure that the upcoming regulatory reporting requirements are properly translated to LYB policies and procedures.
- The (re)design of ESG data models and reporting processes to meet ESG reporting requirements.
- Defining the data management and governance model for ESG reporting.
You Bring This Value:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 6 - 8 years of related accounting experience.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both oral and written are essential.
- Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project required.
- Knowledge of automation tools.
- Prior SAP functionality knowledge.
Work Experience
- Experience with Internal controls and SOX 404 requirements.
- Experience with implementing accounting projects and/or implementing accounting standards.
- Experience in a global, fast-paced, dynamic and deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work independently, apply analytical evaluation and solve non-recurring problems.
