Basic Function

 

The Digital Technology (DT) Senior Manager - Business Solutions, Circular & Low Carbon Solutions (C&LCS), serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the C&LCS business segment at LyondellBasell. This role is crucial for driving decision-making, business value realization, and alignment with LyondellBasell's strategic priorities. The Senior Manager is responsible for owning outcomes, managing the innovation pipeline, and overseeing the end-to-end delivery of the digital technology portfolio, including operations and lifecycle management for the C&LCS segment. This role requires a strong strategic vision, deep understanding of digital technology, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and DT stakeholders.

 

This role is open to candidates based in Rotterdam & Germany.

Roles & Responsibilities

 

 

Strategic Partnership and Advisory:

  • Act as a strategic partner and advisor to the C&LCS business segment, owning business relationships and ensuring alignment with the DT organization.
  • Partner with C&LCS business stakeholders to co-create and sustain multi-year strategic roadmaps and short-term innovation pipelines in collaboration with the DT Director of Digital Innovation to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate with the DT Director of Strategy, Program, and Data Portfolio Management to ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the C&LCS segment, facilitating strategic decision-making and ensuring that DT initiatives align with business objectives.

 

Innovation and Portfolio Management:

  • Co-Drive the management and execution of the innovation pipeline alongside the DT Innovation, Sustainability, and C&LCS, ensuring that new digital initiatives deliver measurable business value.
  • Facilitate project portfolio management through effective demand and lifecycle management, ensuring projects are prioritized and executed in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Enable forward-looking investment planning for key budget cycles and ensure unplanned project requests and enhancements are guided through the DT Demand Intake Process.

 

Application and Lifecycle Management:

  • Initiate and oversee C&LCS Business Application Assessments to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Drive end-to-end application lifecycle management, from inception to obsolescence, ensuring all applications meet the evolving needs of the C&LCS segment.
  • Maintain day-to-day operations for the domain-specific application portfolio, ensuring effective Application Management Services (AMS) support for C&LCS.

 

Operational Excellence and Issue Resolution:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for issue resolution, DT Operations requests, software and licensing requests, and cybersecurity needs for the C&LCS business segment.
  • Ensure that DT is an integrated component of asset, site, and business strategies for C&LCS.
  • Oversee the operations and lifecycle management of DT solutions within the C&LCS segment, ensuring they deliver value and support business continuity.

 

Mergers, Acquisitions, and Joint Ventures:

  • Fully accountable for the success of coordinating with relevant DT stakeholders on the integration of Merger and Acquisition activities and Joint Ventures into the LyondellBasell (LYB) landscape.
  • Ensure seamless DT integration for new entities, maintaining alignment with LYB’s strategic objectives and digital architecture.

 
Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure all digital initiatives and applications within the C&LCS segment comply with LyondellBasell’s cybersecurity standards and enterprise-wide governance frameworks.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure the C&LCS segment adheres to all regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly concerning digital technology and data management.

 

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DT, cybersecurity, functions, and business segments, to ensure the successful delivery of DT solutions.
  • Engage with senior leadership to communicate progress, risks, and opportunities related to the C&LCS DT portfolio.

Min. Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field. A master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant specialization in sustainability, environmental management, or digital technology is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT management, business analysis, or digital technology roles, with substantial exposure to enterprise applications and lifecycle management. Alternatively, extensive experience within the business segment, combined with strong digital acumen and a relentless commitment to developing digital leadership expertise.
  • Proven experience in driving digital transformation initiatives and managing large-scale digital technology portfolios within a complex business environment.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and challenges within the circular and low carbon solutions or related industries.
  • Strong business acumen in the Circular & Low Carbon Solutions (C&LCS) business segment is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align digital technology initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Proficiency in managing digital innovation pipelines, project portfolios, and application lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior business and IT stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity standards, enterprise architecture, and compliance requirements.
     

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
  • Certifications or formal education in Digital Transformation.
  • Certifications or training in sustainability, circular economy, or environmental management.
