Basic Function

The Senior Payroll Analyst role is a senior payroll role within the Human Resources Department. This position will support payroll set up for new companies, locations, and tax jurisdictions. This position is responsible for setting up payroll systems for new companies, managing new tax jurisdictions applications, developing training materials, and leading payroll operations related projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with key stakeholders.  Knowledge of SAP payroll, payroll accounting, and payroll tax is key to the success in this role.  Further responsibilities include auditing and balancing payroll.  The Senior Payroll Analyst must be knowledgeable of federal and state regulations, including wage and hour, tax, garnishment and reporting laws.  

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the payroll, payroll tax, and payroll accounting set up of new locations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulation for each location.
  • Tax jurisdiction applications, auditing, and updates.
  • Monitor tax law changes and ensure payroll compliance across multiple entities, states, and localities.
  • Create, update, and maintain payroll training materials and resources for the payroll department. 
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure payroll staff and management are knowledgeable of new processes, systems, and regulations.
  • Payroll project and ad hoc reporting to support payroll initiatives. 
  • Assists Human Resource representatives and employees as appropriate in the procedural understanding and application of payroll and related Human Resource policies.

Min. Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business or Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 + years of relevant experience using SAP or similar ERP payroll systems to maintain and process payroll.
  • English.
  • Experience working with large volume payrolls.
  • Experience working with payroll tax .
  • Experience working in a multi-state environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and federal regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal conduct and behavior.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Able to comprehend moderately complex assignments quickly and use initiative to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPP preferable, but not required.
  • Experience with Success Factors as an HR system a plus
