Basic Function

Regional responsibility for the cost accounting, analysis, reporting and internal control coordination activities for 4  manufacturing sites, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio and New Jersey. This position is considered a key member of the site management teams and will routinely interact with the SVP, Manufacturing along with other senior management of the company. This manager position plays a crucial role in manufacturing decision support by providing recommendations of a financial nature supported by key information on historical trends and related analysis at the micro level. Incumbent is directly responsible for the management of the on-site financial analyst professionals, but is also routinely required to coordinate finance activities that impact the manufacturing site with several corporate functions. 


This role requires direct collaboration with site management, together with Segment Controllers, the GPS organization, the director of FP&A and the director of Internal and External Reporting. This manager will also coordinate with members of the internal audit and internal controls organizations to ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements. The role will partner with the Supply Chain and other support organizations to ensure compliance with accounting principles and control standards that impact manufacturing costs, working capital, and site EBITDA. The role seeks to influence decision making by providing a financial perspective that drives profitability while understanding and managing risks common to manufacturing operations. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Annual asset strategy and budget process. 
  • Site forecasting and LRP functions.
  • Monthly and Semi-Annual Cost Reviews for plant management and senior company leaders.
  • Site capital processes with Capital Administration. 
  • Internal Controls and compliance to SOX.
  • Annual benchmarking.
  • Classification of Costs (Fixed vs. Variable).
  • Contract Reviews specific to site.
  • Support site turnarounds at our Iowa and Illinois locations. 
  • Financial Support to site manager and staffs. 
  • Three site financial analyst professionals (IL, IA, NJ).

Min. Qualifications

  • A Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Finance or Business required with 10+ years experience in Financial or Manufacturing Accounting.
  • Possesses  high level of customer attention and focus with appropriate discipline toward being the Financial Conscience for site leaders.
  • Has a critical role in inspiring others both inside and outside of the CFO organization to perform tasks impacting the overall Financial performance of the Site.
  • Effectively fosters positive working relationships.
  • Possess high level of communication skills to build relationships at levels at, below and above incumbent level.
  • Expected to coach and teach those inside and outside of the CFO organization driving toward a well-rounded supported organization.
  • Present themselves and their organization in an ethical and responsible way.
  • The clear liaison between the site and the financial functions.
  • Able to assist the site and shared service groups in simplifying Accounting or Financial processes.
  • Capable of pushing back on business partners when circumstances require.
  • Able to discern when and when not to intervene in plant processes.
  • Managerial courage – is not afraid to champion.
  • Ability to travel to site locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and / or CPA / CMA preferred.
  • ERP and data retrieval / analysis experience preferably with SAP and Business Warehouse.
  • 5+ years’ financial management experience supporting/ partnering with a business.
  • Ability to work comfortably and navigate the requirements of a matrix organization.
  • Advanced PC skills, including spreadsheets, database, statistical forecasting, and modeling.
  • Good working level of expertise in SAP and Business Warehouse / Business Intelligence.
