Rotational Development Program:
The LYB Rotational Program is a dynamic and challenging 3 year program of a small group of recent graduates. This program allows new employees three one-year rotations in different functions of the finance organization. The intent of the program is to develop potential future leaders and enable employees the exposure needed to quickly develop. The rotation program will be enhanced by curriculum that allows the employee to develop a deeper understanding of LYB, finance, and professional development.
Department Overview:
The LyondellBasell Finance organization has team members located between Houston, London, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands. This rotational program will be based in our Houston offices.
Roles & Responsibilities
Rotations will be offered across multiple departments of finance and may include rotations in any of the following:
Accounting and Reporting - Provide key insights into operational results, helping to drive improved business performance. We specialize in Financial Reporting, Benefits Accounting, Executive Compensation Accounting, Financial Instruments, Treasury Functions, Hedging and Governance.
Financial Planning and Analysis - Perform budgeting, forecasting, and analysis that supports major corporate decisions of the CFO, CEO, and the Board of Directors.
Internal Audit - Provide the Audit Committee of the Board of Director, Stakeholders, and Management with an ongoing objective evaluation of the Company's internal control environment, in constructive manner that adds value to the business, by identifying opportunities to improve the reliability and quality of the financial, operational and management processes.
Tax - Responsible for tax compliance, managing cash tax outflow, tax planning to minimize cash taxes and manage risk, tax audits, transfer pricing, tax reporting and support to other departments in making business decisions.
Strategic Planning & Transactions – The Strategic Planning and Transactions department is composed of five teams, which are Planning, Strategy, Transactions, Diligence and Implementation and Corporate Development. The team is responsible for identifying, assessing and organizing LYB corporate acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, co-locations, new joint ventures and other strategic transactions, including major organic capital investments.
Min. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business equivalent degree
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Finance certification such as CPA or CMA or working towards a certification preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which requires ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
- Demonstrate basic knowledge in US GAAP and/or Tax principles
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and work across the organization
- Must be highly self-sufficient and able to make self-directed decisions as well as support other accountants in the department
- Must be highly motivated and display strong communication skills, both written and spoken with the ability to work well with others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint
