As a member of our dynamic Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in supporting our North America rail logistics operations. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the maintenance and reliability program for LyondellBasell’s ~17,000 railcar fleet. During a typical day, you will work with the railcar maintenance team to understand the existing data systems, and to develop the tools to track, analyze, and report on LYB’s railcar reliability performance.

This position reports to the Rail Asset Manager is located at our North American Headquarters in Downtown Houston. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan, parking subsidy and employee discounts.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Manage the implementation and execution of the maintenance and reliability program for LyondellBasell’s railcar fleet.  
•    Act as a liaison with the Rail Maintenance Team, Manufacturing, Technical Services, Compliance, and external Vendors to support business objectives. 
•    Assist in developing the tools to track, analyze, and report on LYB’s railcar reliability performance.
•    Manage tank car build specifications for necessary improvements and modifications based on the commodity SDS, railcar part/material engineering improvements, and/or regulatory changes. 
•    Responsible for gathering information from supply chain stakeholders with the purpose of providing technical guidance during the on-hire of new railcars and the change of commodity service within the existing fleet. 
•    Support in gathering the information necessary from internal systems for the annual rail maintenance budget. 
•    Responsible for analyzing the railcar maintenance performance against the budget and identifying cost saving opportunities.
•    Partner with peers to provide solutions, guidance to resolve rail logistics related problems. 
•    Model LyondellBasell core competencies with internal and external stakeholders.

Min. Qualifications

•    The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, manufacturing, maintenance or other related experience. 
•    A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering is required.
•    Ability to analyze large data sets, formulate a position, and concisely convey a message.
•    Must be able to effectively communicate to with all levels of the organization in a concise and thorough manner.
•    Excellent presentation skills required. 
•    The ideal candidate must have strong impact and influence.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Knowledge and understanding of the Rail Industry is desirable.
•    Experience and understanding of rail maintenance is also desirable.
