Procurement Sourcing Specialist - Industrial Gases & Utilities

Basic Function

Creates value by providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, function/business specific related agreements and related work processes in accordance with the global strategy.  Principle resource and point of contact for utility and industrial gas supply issues with manufacturing sites and business management assigned to support.  The commercial lead for site and business regarding utility and industrial gas management; including capital project development, sustainability activities, and performance monitoring.  Responsible for the management of 3rd party utility supplier reliability for utility and industrial gas contracts at the business sites supported.  Begin to independently manage sourcing projects with increasing complexity and medium value.  This role can count as a rotation in the engineering rotation program.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Executes the sourcing process and is able to effectively source segments and/or commodities with increasing complexity and medium value.
• Understands strategies for assigned segments or commodities and proactively drives initiatives to meet sourcing objectives.
• Develops and composes bid specification in such a manner that internal customer needs are addressed.
• Drives reliability of supply with supply base to deliver value to the business.
• Supports Category Managers during complex sourcing initiatives through data modeling and analysis, change management and new process execution.
• Ensures high ethical and financial control compliance standards are met by the organization.
• Maximizes revenue share and controls cost by responding to audits, surveys, or other information requests from internal and external sources.
• Assesses supplier capabilities thru KPI analysis and makes recommendations on supplier acceptability.  Identifies and qualifies new suppliers as required.
• Global Industrial Gases and Utilities team sustainability program lead.
• Additional duties assigned as required.

Min. Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required
• 4+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years in the refining, petrochemicals and/or polymers industry
• Experience in a manufacturing environment in technical or business-related positions

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA preferred
• One or more positions responsible for utility or industrial gas management 
• Industry knowledge, with demonstrated experience in contract development and negotiations
• Experience in financial analysis and capital projects
