Basic Function

 

The Payroll Analyst role supports the US payroll team within the Human Resources Department.  This position is responsible for payroll review, auditing and processing.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining the payroll group email, physical mail, payroll entries, review and auditing. The ability to multi-task and collaborate with the payroll team is key to the success in this role.  The Payroll Analyst must be knowledgeable of federal and state regulations, including wage and hour, tax, garnishment and reporting laws.  
 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

  • Process and verify payroll for hourly and salary employees
  • Responsible for payroll data entry for supplemental payments
  • Manage the payroll group email with professional responses
  • Responsible for maintaining a high-degree of confidentiality relative to employee personal data
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations
  • Respond to payroll related inquires from employees and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner
  • Assists Human Resource representatives and employees as appropriate in the procedural understanding and application of payroll and related Human Resource policies.

Min. Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Business or Information Systems or related field
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant payroll experience 
  • Experience working with large-volume payroll is a plus
  • Experience supporting payroll in SAP or related systems a plus
  • CPP preferable, but not required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and federal regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal conduct and behavior
  • Strong oral & written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Able to comprehend moderately complex assignments quickly and use initiative to accomplish goals
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
