The purpose of the job is to develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy for the Methanol and Acetyls business, optimizing the short term and long term profitability of the business.
A Day In The Life:
- Lead in the development and execution of the Methanol and Acetyls business strategy for the Americas, including developing market segment strategies that contribute to the business strategy.
- Accountable for the profit and loss of the Methanol and Acetyls business in the Americas ; ensures long term profitability and growth of the business through extensive and close collaboration between Manufacturing, Sales, Operations Planning and Supply Chain and with global counterparts to achieve maximum sustained global profitability for the business.
- Drives continuous improvement efforts such as portfolio management, contract development, pricing strategies, inventory management and commercial and product development.
- Responsible for the development of the annual performance plan and long-range business plans.
- Review monthly demand forecast with Operations Planning to align supply / demand.
- Serve as the approval authority for price negotiations within the guidelines established by the Business Director.
- Creates value by understanding markets and competition and being creative in developing opportunities for value creation.
- Evaluate competitor activities, produce price forecasting in line with marketing objectives in order to assist in preparation of business analysis and plans and disseminate market intelligence with the assistance of Business Finance.
- Champions investments needed to grow the business and contributes to increase the profitability of the current asset footprint.
- Develops and grows profitable circular and low carbon solutions, working with sales to develop a clear and compelling value proposition to customers.
- Leads with a continuous improvement mindset, encouraging his/her organization to drive value through LyondellBasell’s Value Enhancement Program.
You Bring this Value:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Technical discipline and / or MBA strongly preferred ; bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Significant knowledge of and experience in the petrochemical industry (Typically 10+ years in a combination of roles that could include Product Management, Production Optimization, Business Development and Strategic Planning)
- Ability to communicate with and maintain business relationships with senior levels of customer management.
- Experience leading through significant change.
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
