This position reports to the Senior Manager Business Finance USCAN and will be responsible for manufacturing cost controlling and analysis, reporting and internal controls coordination activities for all the sites within APS USCAN region. This position is a Manager role and therefore owns responsibility for between 3 direct reports supporting 11 sites. This position is a key member of the site management teams. The person in this position will also regularly interact with senior finance leadership and senior manufacturing leadership.

This position plays a crucial role in manufacturing decision support by providing recommendations supported by key financial information on historical trends and related analysis at the micro level. This role is directly responsible for the management of the on-site controlling and analysis team, but is also routinely required to coordinate accounting activities that impact the manufacturing region with the Global Finance functions.

This role requires direct collaboration with the respective site managers and their staffs, together with Business Finance, Corporate Accounting functions, the director of APS Global Finance, and the director of Internal and External Reporting. The role will also partner with the Supply Chain and other support organizations to ensure compliance with accounting principles and control standards that impact manufacturing costs, working capital, and business EBITDA. This role seeks to influence decision making by providing a financial perspective that drives profitability while understanding and managing risks common to manufacturing operations.

A Day in the Life

 

 

• Being an active business partner for the Regional Manufacturing Director(s), the FP&A Team, the Strategy Team, the Internal Controls Team and Internal Audit Team.

• Encompasses all things accounting-related for the respective Sites of responsibility, including accounting and month-end close activities, manufacturing fixed and variable cost analysis, manufacturing and corporate reporting, and internal control coordination, as well as additional core and ad-hoc functions for various site support organizations.

• Provides insightful analysis to APS Leadership on manufacturing performance and outlook.

• Provides key information on historical and forward-looking trends and related cost analysis at the micro and macro level.

• Coordination/Preparation/Supporting of: (1) Annual manufacturing fixed and variable cost performance plan, (2) Site forecasting, (3) LRP, (4) Monthly cost reviews and quarterly cost reviews for management, (5) Site appraisals, (6) Internal controls and Sox compliance, (7) Classification of costs, (8) Contract review, (9) Physical inventory Stock take, (10) Financials related to Turnarounds, (11) Site audits and other major site projects and (12) Ad-hoc financial support for the manufacturing site(s).

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the yearly Volumetric Exposure Analysis as part of the Global Volumetric Policy.

• Support LYB initiatives like SAP implementations or upgrades, implementation of One Stream or other systems, benchmark studies, synergy tracking and headcount tracking.

• Drives standardization, efficiency and effectiveness across the USCAN MC&A organization, by proactive engagement and collaboration with other Finance departments.

You Bring This Value

• A Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance or other related business degree. Advanced degree and / or CPA / CMA preferred.

• Minimum 10+ years of work experience in an international corporate setting, with knowledge of Manufacturing accounting concepts and systems. Emphasis on areas such as reporting development, financial planning and analysis and business analytics is required.

• Experience in Site/Process Manufacturing environment. Plus if worked in an industrial industry such as plastics, chemical, and/or refining.

• Experience in SAP or related ERP system preferred.

• Strong verbal and written English skills required.

• Support LYB initiatives like SAP implementations or upgrades, implementation of One Stream or other systems, benchmark studies, synergy tracking and headcount tracking.

• Drives standardization, efficiency and effectiveness across the USCAN MC&A organization, by proactive engagement and collaboration with other Finance departments.
