Basic Function
This position is responsible for the global logistics network design and cost to service modeling for the assigned business. This role is the key interface between our global business partners and global supply chain. They work collaboratively to design a supply chain network that balances the cost, service, reliability, and sustainability goals for the business. This role will develop the foundation to build cost to serve models and a digital twin of the global supply chain.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Strategy Development: Design and implement strategies that optimize the supply chain network, considering cost, quality, and delivery time.
2. Network Design and Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize the supply chain network, including the locations of plants, warehouses, and distribution centers.
3. Logistics Optimization: Manage transportation and distribution strategies to minimize costs and improve efficiency.
4. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, including natural disasters, geopolitical issues, and supply shortages.
5. Sustainability Initiatives: Implement sustainable practices in the supply chain to reduce environmental impact and meet corporate social responsibility goals.
6. Cost Control: Monitor and control costs across the supply chain, including procurement, production, logistics, and inventory management.
7. Data Analysis and Reporting: Use advanced analytics to monitor supply chain performance and report on key metrics to senior management.
8. Technology Integration: Leverage technology (e.g., ERP systems, AI, and IoT) to improve supply chain visibility and efficiency.
9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, production, and sales, to align supply chain strategies with business objectives.
10. Team Leadership and Development: Manage and develop the supply chain team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform effectively.
Person Specification
Education:
• At minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or Finance required.
• Master’s Degree or MBA in relevant field preferred
Work Experience:
• 10 years of experience in positions with increasing responsibility in supply chain, purchasing, materials management, or similar customer facing role, of which at least 3 years in supervisory role
• Extensive experience in the chemical industry, particularly in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement. Familiarity with the specific challenges and regulations of the chemical sector is crucial.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software, data analysis tools, and technologies
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions to optimize the supply chain.
• Experience in managing large-scale projects, particularly those related to supply chain optimization or technology implementation.
Languages:
• Fluency in English required.
• Working knowledge of one or more other European languages preferred
