Basic Function

The Logistics Compliance Business Consultant position provides leadership to Supply Chain, business units, functional units, manufacturing and management in the areas of transportation regulatory issues and leads programs to ensure compliance and safe transportation of LYB products and transportation assets.  The position is also responsible for leading major Supply Chain projects and initiatives for service improvement or cost reduction. The incumbent acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for facility assessments related to the loading, unloading, and handling of LYB products at LYB facilities, Logistics Service Providers (LSP), and Customers. 

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to transportation and distribution in LYB in the Americas. 
  • Interpret complex transportation regulations for the company, including design of shipping documents.
  • Development long range plans, performance commitments, goals and KPI’s in logistics compliance.
  • Interface with Supply Chain Management teams, Senior Management, Business teams, and a broad array of functional groups within Supply Chain, HSE, Manufacturing, Legal, and Commercial areas regarding transportation/distribution incident response and risk management.
  • Provide expertise to projects related to the handling systems of our hazardous products at Plant, Customer, and LSP facilities.
  • Represent LYB on various industry association committees such as DGAC, AAR, etc.
  • Lead the effort for transportation safety and logistics security for LYB, including hazmat coordinator networks at LYB manufacturing plants.
  • Leads the implementation for improvements to processes, management systems and procedures for Supply Chain that will support Global compliance (BOLs, MSDSs, Technical Bulletins, MOCs etc.).
Min. Qualifications
  • 10+ years’ experience in Logistics/Manufacturing related functions.           
  • Ability to travel 20-25%.
  • DOT, IMDG, IATA Training, Apollo Root Cause Team Leader Certification, OE Audit Team Lead Training, Facilitative Leadership Training, TDG (Transport of Dangerous Goods)
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline, preferably Engineering or Supply Chain/Logistics
