Basic Function

The Learning Solutions Manager is responsible for leading a small team to analyze our organization’s needs, design comprehensive training programs, support program delivery and track learning solutions and programs. The role will collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, learning managers, and cross-functional teams to develop engaging and impactful learning experiences. The Learning Solutions Manager will support the enterprise learning management system within Success Factors and work closely with human resource data analytics to identify metrics and measures which drive performance improvement. Role requirements include managing budget and expenses, learning content software systems, working with external vendors, and document management.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead a team as a working manager to design and deliver creative instructional content, program manage multiple global programs and administer Learning Management System including scheduling, reporting, communication.
  • Design and develop innovative learning solutions that align with company culture, business objectives, incorporating a blend of traditional and digital learning approaches, such as instructor-led training, virtual classrooms, e-learning modules, microlearning, and simulations.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning gaps and training requirements.
  • Create comprehensive learning solutions that range from foundational to advanced skills on topics such as, leadership development, professional skills, soft skills, and communication.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality learning content, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.  
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation related to learning solutions, including design documents, project plans, program administrative guides, and evaluation reports.
  • Support program delivery through communications, Microsoft Teams management, physical room setup, vendor coordination and material organization
  • Work with vendors on scope definition, deliverables and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Partner closely with interdepartmental leaders, corporate communications and HR functions (DEI, performance management etc.) and exercise independent judgment to deliver interactive and engaging content as defined.
  • Support continuous improvement by implementing post-training evaluations and gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to measure their impact on employee performance.  
  • Partner with HR Reporting and Analytics function to capture, analyze and display data for stakeholders.
  • Provide governance for content development utilizing common methodologies such as ADDIE and Agile principles.
  • Ability to manage, train and mentor team members in the development of training-related solutions including content design and development, training delivery, e-Learning design and development, assessment and sustainment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, existing programs/solutions delivery and alignment with company values, culture and employee value proposition.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design Systems, Curriculum Design, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Organizational Development (OD), Organizational Effectiveness (OE), Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of OD experience in learning and development design and delivery.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong project planning skills, scheduling and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and motivate people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions in a geographically diverse organization. 
  • Strong program and project management skills, and ability to operationalize and scale programs.
  • Ability to motivate and influence stakeholders and peer groups.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced deadline-intensive environment; anticipate obstacles and plan contingencies. 
  • Confident, savvy, well prepared individual with the ability to adapt quickly and advance the goals for the organization across all levels.
  • Collaborative partner, excellent relationship builder, demonstrates compassion and loyalty for his/her colleagues across all business functions and levels.
  • Ability to think creatively while delivering practical solutions. 
  • Experience utilizing learning management system and other learning software / tools to build learning paths, schedule and document learning and leverage existing learning content.
  • Proficient use of e-Learning authoring tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in petrochemical and/or oil & gas industries.
  • Masters degree in training, instructional design or related fields.
