Basic Function

The Land and Real Estate Coordinator is responsible for providing support and coordinating a variety of activities within the Real Estate and Facility team at LyondellBasell. This includes but is not limited to providing technical support for all land transactions and activities, creating purchase requisitions and monitoring invoices for facilities purchases, initiating and tracking project approvals and documentation, vendor selection and management, and coordination of real estate lease payments. In addition, this position maintains real estate file rooms, and interfaces with numerous external service providers.


This role reports to the Senior Director, Real Estate and Facilities and is located at our North American Headquarters in Downtown Houston. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan, parking subsidy, and employee discounts.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for interfacing with local business and functional contacts on a global basis for invoice processing for real estate leases including creating purchase requisitions in SAP and monitor annual invoicing for Facilities purchases.
  • Analyze and maintain real estate agreements including preparation of lease and land documents and maintaining records of land use and land activity.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, dashboards and documents for the Real Estate and Facilities team and keep the Real Estate and Facilities webpage up to date.
  • Responsible for creating, tracking and closing out all documents requiring execution.
  • Support the creation of and tracking approvals for Authority for Expenditures (AFE), Contract Approval Forms (CAF), amendments and miscellaneous real estate documents.
  • Preparation of documents for execution inclusive of notarization and filing of documents with local municipalities.
  • Manage parking garage accommodations for additions/removal from parking garages; responsible for notifying Payroll of additions and removals.
  • Provide portfolio support to regional real estate managers including a keen understanding of commercial real estate leases, deeds and Right-of-Way (ROW) documents as well as payment maintenance and land support for due diligence efforts.
  • Assists in the analyses of title documents to determine ownership, identification of title/ownership issues, recommending appropriate steps for resolution. 
  • Coordinate shredder services, including invoicing, ordering services, and cancelling services. 
  • Assist business and functional admins with scheduling/booking training and conference rooms. 
  • Manage maintenance requests (via shared mailbox monitoring, phone request, etc.) by ensuring they are documented and assigned to the appropriate personnel for completion.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with external lease administration provider to maintain an accurate database.

Min. Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Associates Degree. 
  • 3 years’ relevant land and real estate experience required including strong grasp of real estate contract terms and conditions.
  • Prior SAP experience required.
  • Strong skills within Microsoft suite of applications required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in corporate facilities and real estate environment.
  • Prior work experience in reading survey and map documents.
