Supply Chain is a customer-focused Center of Excellence providing industry-leading service while delivering differential value to the business, today and into the future. We separate our Supply Chain functions into several areas; these include logistics, customer fulfillment, services, trade compliance, and support for business processes and systems.
As a member of our dynamic Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in helping us supply our products to a global customer base. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate, strategic, and real-time inventory positions for your assigned business area, utilizing analytical and forecasting tools to understand challenges and present solutions to the business and North America Supply Chain organization.
This position may support the Intermediates & Derivatives (I&D) or Olefins business and will be located in Downtown Houston at our North American headquarters. A Day in the Life
- Proactively manage inventory using mid- to long-term demand forecasts, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business strategy; includes oversight of third-party storage, exchange agreements, and in-transit inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and service reliability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound/outbound product movements across multiple locations and transportation modes.
- Coordinate daily activities with third-party and tolling facilities, serving as a key liaison between the business, operations planning, and suppliers; additionally, provide support for system-related questions and access requests, and actively participate in KPI meetings to ensure alignment with performance metrics and strategic goals.
- Build and establish relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, clearly understand network, transportation and operations.`
- Communicate effectively across internal/external teams to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Lead problem-solving efforts for time-sensitive needs and service incidents, driving root cause analysis and resolution.
- Partner with inventory accounting to ensure accurate monthly reconciliation of inventory,
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and service performance at terminals and plants.
- Analyze complex data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process optimization; clearly communicate findings and present to stakeholders to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document and update all processes, procedures, benchmarks, and analyses performed.
- Demonstrate independent knowledge of the Enterprise system (SAP), extended system tools, and assist team members and 3PL providers with full utilization of these tools.
- Assure and maintain accuracy of material and/or master data in SAP and extended systems.
- Operate with a lean solution-oriented mindset with regard to process improvements; Assist with change implementation for extended system improvements or other customer fulfillment projects.
- Model LYBs core competencies with internal and external customers.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support outside of regular business hours to ensure continuity of operations and timely response to business segment needs.
- Provide routine coverage for peers vacation and leave.
- Lead weekly tactical meetings and gather communication and notes.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant, industry-related experience.
- Candidates with a High School Diploma and at least 8 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in SAP, including material movement and inventory transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Lean experience and/or willingness to train as team lead.
- Experience in order fulfillment, direct order management, or logistics coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Advanced analytical skills, with experience consolidating and interpreting data using Excel and statistical forecasting tools.
- Composure in time-sensitive situations and ability to communicate challenging updates professionally.
- Familiarity with transportation tracking systems, inventory management tools, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to maintain professionalism and prioritize responsibilities under pressure.
- Experience supporting system access, troubleshooting, and user questions.
- Ability to prepare and present complex reports, including financial and statistical data, in a clear and concise format.
