I&D Sustainability Development Mgr US

Basic Function

The I&D Sustainability Development Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Sustainability initiatives in US. The role will focus on leading the communication of our I&D Sustainability Strategies to the US customers, the 2023 roll-out of LCA data, the implementation of Low Carbon and Circular Product Sales as well as translating the customer feedback on these initiatives into concrete strategies and actions.

In order to achieve the I&D sustainability goals, the function will work closely with the I&D commercial organization, the LYB Sustainability Team, the C&LC organization, R&D and other LYB Business stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Understands LYB’s sustainability goals and strategy, the I&D products and how they are made. Leverages this knowledge to assist in shaping the I&D scope 3 sustainability strategies. Understand how the company is organized and can work independently across the functions.  
• Strong communicator that works closely and effectively with Sales and I&D customers procurement and sustainability experts to develop and grow low carbon and circular business opportunities that meet the goals of I&D and its customers. Translates customer feedback into strategies and action plans for the end-use segments in collaboration with the Sales Business Development Manager, the C+CLS and the Sustainability organization. 
• Leads the efforts to collect accurate end-use application data for the I&D products in the region, understands the related sustainability related trends, legal landscape and the potential effects on the I&D business. Advises the business on conclusions.
• Assumes the lead in working with Marketing Communications and other stakeholders to develop content for coordinated internal / external reporting and communications; including broad Industry, OEM and customer communications
• Represents I&D in several internal and external stakeholder groups in relation to scope 3 emission reductions.
• Develops, leads and coordinates the I&D processes required for advancing the I&D sustainability strategy such as low carbon raw material sourcing, ISCC certification processes. 
• Develop and establish sustainability KPIs (consistent with industry protocols) to coordinate, track and report progress towards achieving the I&D sustainability goals and targets across the three I&D regions with a sense of urgency
• Embraces and drives change, while also influencing management as necessary

Qualifications

• University / College degree in engineering or science required. A Masters Degree and/or PhD is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the petrochemical industry required, preferably in a variety of roles including BDA, POS Planning, Technical, Commercial and Manufacturing. Knowledge of the I&D products and how they are made is a plus.
• The ability to work with cross functional teams with a focus on project execution is a critical requirement.
• There is some travel associated with this position.
