Basic Function
Provide Leadership for the Global Incident Investigation Process and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) improvement initiatives by leading high consequence level incident investigations, leading training of site Investigation Leads, leading HOP training of key site personnel, and providing quality oversight for investigation quality. Provide data analysis, insight and learnings from incident data. Facilitate related networks and communities of practice to drive awareness, share learnings, and build competencies throughout the company.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead Level 3 and higher consequence investigations for incidents in the Americas
- Lead high learning value Level 2 incident investigations
- Lead multiple Formal Investigation Training Classes for site BFA leads
- Provide mentorship to site Investigation Process Coordinators and site leads
- Review Quality of Formal Incident Investigation Reports
- Develop and maintain KPI’s for investigation quality and data trends
- Industry experience in investigations in Occupational Safety, Process Safety and Environmental
- Understanding of evaluation of Human Factors in investigations
Min. Qualifications
- Engineering or safety professional degree required
- 10+ years of Industry Experience
- 2 years leading multiple incident investigations including human factors, 5 + years preferred with at least 1 year experience with Barrier Failure Analysis methodology.
- Knowledge of multiple process technologies
- Previous experience dealing with legal review and involvement of outside agencies in high visibility investigations
- Ability to display courage for the difficult conversations with site and executive leadership
- Ability to manage multiple high priority timelines with non-linear priorities in a self-directed environment
- Working knowledge of INTELEX
- Bowtie Incident XP software, preferred
- High level of verbal and written communication skills required.
- Human and Organizational Performance(HOP) experience, preferred
- Coaching/Mentoring skills
- Team facilitation experience
