Basic Function

  • Work in close collaboration with the Global Industrial Gases and Global Raw Materials Category Management Team, providing analytical support to access the value of supplier contracts and initiatives to meet the company’s sustainability and financial objectives.
  • Provide stakeholders, including senior management, with economic, market, and industry analysis to understand trends and potential market shifts.
  • Work with the category teams to prepare recommendations and presentations related to commercial opportunities, strategic sourcing decisions, capital projects, revenue growth/cost reduction, and industry data compilation/interpretation/analysis.
  • Active participation in business process, information technology support, systems integration and implementation initiatives for the Procurement organization.
     

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex data, identifies anomalies, and provides information in a user-friendly format. 
  • Assures spend file accuracy, monitors metrics and supports efforts to capture the actual contract pricing information into analytical tools for reporting. 
  • Communicates and enforces business rules through interaction with all levels of Procurement. 
  • Contributes to compliance reporting to respond to Accounting, Internal and External Control audits. 
  • Displays high proficiency in Enterprise system applications.  Applies analytical tools to anticipate and solve problems in a timely fashion. 
  • Identifies and implements system and process improvements to optimize efficiency.
  • Assist in requirements gathering, business case development, and implementation of appropriate solutions. 
  • Supports Category Managers during complex sourcing initiatives through data modeling and analysis, change management and new process execution.
  • Ensures high ethical and financial control compliance standards are met by the organization.
  • Provides performance analysis and benchmarking processes for energy-related costs in the business

Min. Qualifications

  • BS or BA Undergraduate Degree required, Engineering Degree and MBA preferred
  • Requires 6+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years in the refining, petrochemicals and/or polymers industry preferred
  • Strong analytical, evaluation, and judgment skills – demonstrated ability to handle complex, and often ambiguous analytical and evaluation assignments, including development of economic and cost models 
  • Thorough understanding of corporate finance, financial modeling and analytical tools (IRR, NPV, payback, EVA, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills consistent with a client group that includes Senior Managers & Executives
  • Advanced PC skills, including spreadsheets, database, graphics, statistical forecasting and modeling. Good information technology skills needed to access company data.
